For example, we see that the “war on terrorism” is not only in the power spaces—the White House, the Pentagon, the Capitol—but how it has a real impact on real bodies. Torture is not only something that the Bush Justice Department condones, it is also a series of barbaric acts perpetrated by real people against other people.

Vice is one of those movies designed to make you feel uncomfortable, and it works really well. In turn, you’ll find yourself amused and terrified by Cheney’s actions, especially since many of them will essentially poison American society.
