Ship of the same name at the end of World War II. The film stars Nicholas Cage, Tom Seizmore, Thomas Jane, Matt Rant, Brian Presley and Cody Walker. Principal photography began on June 19, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama.
The film premiered in the Philippines on August 24, 2022. It was released as a digital rental on iTunes and Amazon in the United States on October 14, 2022, and will be shown in limited theaters over Veterans Day weekend.

Synopsis USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, In 1945, the Portland-class heavy cruiser Indianapolis, commanded by Captain Charles McVeigh (Nicholas Cage), carried several atomic bombs, which were later used to bomb Hiroshima at the end of World War II.

On July 30, 1945, during a patrol in the Philippine Sea, the unaccompanied vessel was torpedoed by the I-58 submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) carrying a crew of 300 to the bottom of the Philippine Sea and resting for a hike. Get out of the boat and go. In shark-infested waters, he ran aground at sea for five days without food and water.

On comment aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, based on 12 comments, the film received a 17% approval rate, with an average rating of 3.4/10. On Metacritic, according to 8 critics, the film’s weighted average score is 30 points (out of 100 points), indicating that the “overall evaluation is poor”.
Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter called the film sloppy and called the special effects cheesy and unconvincing; what he thinks about shark movies is Sharknado-style.
Glenn Kenny and Scheck of RogerEbert.com, like many other critics, believed that such gruesome stories would hit screens sooner. It was agreed that the film was not completely unattainable, but also not worth watching at all, lazy about timing details, and summed it up as two hours plus awkwardness and catering.

Neil Gentzlinger of The New York Times criticized the film for its lack of subtlety in handling an almost unbelievable story. He called the storylines of the characters in the main plot weak and the special effects cracked, and pointed out that the film’s treatment of too much of a central story sucked up all the drama.
