Install Stacer on Ubuntu, Application for System Optimization
Stacer is a utility application that is open source created to optimize system and resources on a device (resources).
Stacer is made with one of the framework which is popular and widely used today in application development, namely Electron.
By using Stacer, you can see the resource usage on a device or system. Then you can optimize by deleting caches or junk files that are not important, delete or uninstall unneeded applications.
You can also stop a system process or a service which are running in the background — which you don’t think need to be running so as to save resource usage, of course you can restart system processes or service it returns using Stacer.

Dashboard – To View Resource Usage Statistics

The first menu is Dashboard, Dashboard is the first display that will appear when you open Stacer.
The dashboard displays statistics on resource usage on the device, such as what percentage (%) of CPU is being used by the system, how much RAM is currently being used from total resources, how much free space is used and still available on storage, and usage statistics. or network speed presented online real time, covering speed download and uploads.
These statistics are presented in a very beautiful and colorful form, making the Dashboard comfortable to look at.
System Cleaner – To Remove Junk Files

The next menu is System Cleaner. In this menu you can clean junk files, including:
- cache apt
- cache application
- Report crash or damage
- And log system
cache apt, report crashand log system can be safely removed. These three files will not cause any problems to the system if you delete them. But, you have to be a little careful if you want to delete caches application, you have to completely delete the files caches unimportant application.
To do scan In order to find these junk files, select the type of junk files you want to search for, then press the button “System Scan” which is on the left side of the application. Then Stacer will display any junk files present on the system, which it may wish to delete.
To delete it, first select the files you want to delete. Then press the button “Clean” at the bottom of the application.
Startup Apps – To Turn Off Automatically Running Apps At Startup

The third menu is Startup Apps, this menu displays applications or service which will run automatically during the process startup or when the device is turned on. services it affects speed boot or the startup speed of the device.
You can choose to disable apps or service so that it does not run automatically during the process startups, so it can speed up the process speed startup your device.
But you also have to be careful in choosing applications that cannot be run automatically during the process startup by the system, because some applications, such as main system applications, must run automatically during processing startup or when the computer is turned on.
System Services – To Turn Off Services Running in the Background

The next menu is the System Services menu, in this menu you can see service which is running on your system in the background.
You can turn off service which you deem unnecessary or okay if it is turned off, so as to save the use of your device’s resources. In this way, those of you who have devices with limited resources can be helped a little in saving the use of resources.
Uninstaller – To Uninstall Unnecessary Packages or Applications

The sixth menu or the last menu is “Uninstaller”. In this menu you can remove packages installed on your device.
Stacer will display a list of packages installed on the device, including applications and system cores. You can also search for the packages you want to remove in the search box.
To delete it, just press icon trash can on the package you want to remove, then Stacer deletes the package automatically.
But you have to be careful before deleting or pressing icon the trash can. Because when you press the trash can icon, Stacer will immediately delete the package you selected without first confirming such as “Are you sure you want to delete” and so on.
So first make sure you really choose the right package before deleting it.
Install Latest Stacer on Ubuntu and Derivatives for System Optimization
The latest version of Stacer is version 1.0.6. To install Stacer on Ubuntu, you candownload deb file from Stacer to install it at this link, download according to the type of operating system architecture you are using.
Or open Terminal on your Ubuntu by pressing shortcut/combination CTRL + ALT + T on keyboard or via the Ubuntu Dash/applications menu.
Then enter (copy and paste only) the command below in Terminal to men-download deb file from Stacer, adjust to the architecture of the operating system you are using.
For 32 bits:
wget https://github.com/oguzhaninan/Stacer/releases/download/v1.0.6/Stacer_1.0.6_i386.deb
For 64 bits:
wget https://github.com/oguzhaninan/Stacer/releases/download/v1.0.6/Stacer_1.0.6_amd64.deb
Wait for the process download until it’s finished and make sure the file is successfully downloaded perfectly, then type the following command in Terminal to install it :
For 32 bits:
sudo dpkg -i Stacer_1.0.6_i386.deb
For 64 bits:
sudo dpkg -i Stacer_1.0.6_amd64.deb
Wait for the installation process to finish and no error. After the installation process is complete, you can open Stacer via the application menu or the Ubuntu Dash. Every time you open Stacer, you are asked to enter a password for “sudo”.
