Install SoundNode on Linux, SoundCloud Desktop Application
SoundCloud is a platform service music streaming which is quite popular. SoundCloud is a place for music fans, whether music creators, music lovers, or both.
Music creators can share their works or simply project pranks on SoundCloud for others to hear. Music connoisseurs can hear songs from their favorite musicians, or just songs cover sung by other users.
In Indonesia alone, many SoundCloud users use SoundCloud. On SoundCloud you can listen to music and project from various Indonesian and world musicians whoupload on SoundCloud.
You can also find musical works from amateur musicians or casual users, who also have talent in music, but lack the place and appreciation in the music world, so they can express themselves on SoundCloud. What are SoundNodes?
SoundNode is an app open source and free created by a developer named Michael Lancaster. SoundNode was created as a desktop application for SoundCloud. SoundNode is an app cross platform available for use on Windows, OS X, and Linux operating systems.
SoundNode is not an app official from SoundCloud. Application official from SoundCloud is deprecated. SoundNode Built using Node.js and Angular. SoundNode has display or User Interfaces (UI) that modern and beautiful so it is quite comfortable to use.
SoundNode Features as Unofficial SoundCloud Desktop Application
SoundNode uses the features of SoundCloud, plus shortcuts or a keyboard combination that makes it easy for the user to operate the SoundNode.
Some of the features possessed by SoundNode, among others:
- Shortcuts or a keyboard combination that makes it easy for users to use SoundNode.
- Search feature for new songs.
- Easy navigation.
- Playing songs from from playlists that you make, from the songs you like, the people you follow and so on.
- Liked the song, and saved it to playlists the songs you like.

Install SoundNode to use SoundCloud on Linux.
There are two ways you can choose to install SoundNode on your Linux. You can download and use SoundNode directly portableor install it manually permanent through repository.
Install and Use SoundNode Portable
One of the conveniences that SoundNode provides is that SoundNode can be used portable.
Download the SoundNode package file in the form of “.zip” for Linux on the SoundNode website, choose according to the Linux architecture you are using (32 bit or 64 bit).

Then after the process download finished, extract the downloaded package file.
To run SoundNode, you just need to click on the file named soundnode in the extract, as shown below:

Then SoundNode will open, you will be asked to do login with your registered SoundCloud account or you can sign up to create a SoundCloud account to start using it.
Login if you already have a SoundCloud account. You can register it first if you don’t have a SoundCloud account.
Install SoundNode on Ubuntu and Debian Systems Using Repository
If you are using an Ubuntu, Debian or Debian system and other Ubuntu derivatives, you can install SoundNode via repository by typing the following command in Terminal:
curl -s https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/JonasGroeger/soundnode/script.deb.sh | sudo bash
sudo apt-get install soundnode
Wait for the download and installation process to complete.
Once that’s done, you can open SoundNode by searching for it via the Ubuntu Dash if you’re using Ubuntu, or in your Linux Applications Menu. You can also open SoundNode via terminal by typing the command “soundnode” on Terminals.
After successfully running SoundNode, login with your SoundCloud account if you already have a SoundCloud account, or you can register SoundCloud first if you don’t have an account. Welcome to SoundCloud!
