Install Audacious Music Player 3.8.2 (Latest) on Ubuntu
Audacious is a free music player app and open source. Audacious is a derivative of the XMMS music player application which has been discontinued for several reasons.

Audacious lets you add and play music in Audacious by dragging a folder, a file or multiple music files from the Window Manager and dropping them into Audacious, or better known as drag and drop. Audacious also has a look or user interfaces beautiful, you can use a display interfaces which modern with a GTK theme or you can also use a skin with a Winamp Classic look.
Then you can search for an album, a singer or a Band in Library music on Audacious, you can create and edit playlists or a playlist containing the songs you want. Audacious allows you to play music from CD/DVD or over the internet. You can also display a graphic visual of the sound effect by using equalizer or the LSDPA effect.
In addition, by using plugins addition to Audacious, so you can display the lyrics of a song you’re currently playing in Audacious, tune or organize a alarm which can wake you up in the morning and many other features.

Install Audacious 3.8.2 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Other Ubuntu Derivatives.
To install the Audacious music player on Ubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 16.10 distros, as well as other Linux distributions that are derivatives of Ubuntu such as Linux Mint and so on. You can install Audacious using PPA repositories.
Open Terminal by pressing the keyboard combination / shortcuts CTRL + ALT + T or open Terminal via Ubuntu Dash (application menu).
Enter the following command in Terminal to add PPA repository to install Audacious. You canpaste command in Terminal by pressing the keyboard combination / shortcuts CTRL + SHIFT + V:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
Then after successfully adding PPA repositories. Type the following command in Terminal to do update repository so that the list of applications in the list repository can be updated:
sudo apt-get update
After process update repository done, install the Audacious music player application and plugins additionally using the following command:
sudo apt install audacious audacious-plugins
Wait for the installation process to finish and make sure it’s not there error during the installation process.
If successful, you can open the Audacious application in the application menu and start playing music using the Audacious music player application.
