Various Disadvantages of Sharing Accounts on Steam

How to Share Steam Accounts

Before discussing how to share a Steam account, it’s a good idea to know in advance that this feature of Steam has several drawbacks.

The following are some of the disadvantages of the Sharing Account feature:

· There is a game sharing limit on Steam

Even though you can share Game Library by using the Sharing Account feature, but you can’t just share it with everyone you know.

This Steam feature is limited to use on 10 devices and 5 accounts only. So you can no longer use the Sharing Account feature if you have exceeded the usage limit.

· Not all games can be played with the Sharing Account feature

Apart from having a limit on the number of devices and accounts, not all games on Steam can be played with this feature.

There are some games that cannot run when you play with this Sharing Account feature.

Some types of games that do not support this feature are games that require a special account or subscription to play them.

· Can’t play the game at the same time

The next drawback of this Steam feature is that you can’t play games simultaneously with those who get a Sharing Account from your account.

So the game can only be played alternately. And as the primary owner, you get priority to play games on Steam.

If the game is being played by an account that gets a Sharing Account, then you as the main owner also play the game, then the Sharing Account account will get a notification to exit the game or buy the game to be able to continue playing.

· Cannot play games with region restrictions

Even though you have obtained a Sharing Account, you will not be able to play games that are included in the region restriction category.

So if the owner of the main account and the Sharing Account are in different regions, then there is a possibility that the recipient of the Sharing Account cannot play certain games inside Game Library.
