The first thing to do is determine the type of coordinates that are in the GPS and in Google Earth. For setting the type of coordinates in Google Ear can be done through the menu “Device > Options” Take a look at the part in the red box in the image below

In the red box above, there are several choices of coordinates that we can use and adjust to what we use.
- Decimal Degrees
- Degrees, Minutes, Seconds
- Degrees, Minutes Decimal
- Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM)
- Military Grid Reference System
If you use Garmin GPS, you can set the coordinate type. Here the student blog admin uses the UTM tip coordinates as shown below

After the coordinate types of the two devices have been adjusted, now it remains only to display the coordinate data to Google Earth by selecting “Add Placemark” then a dialog box will appear as below, please fill in the coordinate data that already exists in the red box, the placemark will automatically go to the location where the coordinates are inputted.

Hopefully this very simple review can help the readers of the student blog How to Find Coordinate Points in Google Earth.
