How to calculate an accurate land area. We will discuss how how to calculate land area manually using the correct formula, I happen to work as an honorary in one of the agencies dealing with land issues. Well… this time I will teach you how calculate land area with use math formula or manually, using a System such as Autocad Applications. We will discuss this on another occasion how how to calculate area using Autocad Application which is probably much simpler.
How to calculate land area. Mathematics is an exact science, there can be no mistakes if we follow the existing formula. Most people, if you want to calculate the area, use formula Length x Width (wrong).
Why wrong? The reason is that if P x L = (10 x 10 = not necessarily 100), this formula can be used if the plot of land is a right angle or 90 degree angle. The smaller the angle of a plane, the smaller its area.
If the ground is not 90′ we use any triangular formula Why should the triangular formula? The reason is because the smallest angle is the angle of a triangle, there are no two angles!. 
Beside is the formula we will use.

S = Perimeter
Let S = perimeter of triangle ABD
S = AB + BD + DA
S = A + B + D
So as not to be confused, let’s try to calculate an example of the size of the soil as below.
Note: the red line is the diagonal of the plot of land.

1. Area of Triangle AEF
2. Area of Triangle ABE
3. Area of Triangle BCE
4. Area of Triangle CDE
= Area AEF + ABE + BCE + CE
= 55.8 + 85.2 + 74.4 + 35.1
= 250.5
So the total land area is 250.5 m2
How? not so hard right?
So if you want to do land area calculation don’t calculate it with the P x L formula. Because it’s not necessarily P x L used (depending on the angle of the field if it’s a square for example 10 x 20 with an angle = 90′ it can only be used. If the plot of land is trapezoidal or > < 90′ use the triangular formula ). If you can use Microsoft Excel it might be faster to calculate it. Just enter the formula into Microsoft Excel.
