Junk files or junk files are files cache the result of processing or use on the system that is no longer needed. This junk file can be cache using browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, cache from apt when you install the app, or kernel old ones you no longer need and so on.
These junk files can be annoying, sometimes subconsciously these junk files will make your storage media full without you knowing it, even though you don’t save or add new data files.

How to Delete Junk Files and Cache in Ubuntu Using Ubuntu Cleaner
Ubuntu Cleaner is a utility or tools which works to remove junk files in Ubuntu. By using Ubuntu Cleaner, you can remove junk files in an easy and effective way.
To remove junk files in Ubuntu by using Ubuntu Cleaner. You must have Ubuntu Cleaner first. If you haven’t installed Ubuntu Cleaner on your Ubuntu, first install Ubuntu Cleaner by following this tutorial.
If you already have or install Ubuntu Cleaner on your Ubuntu. Open Ubuntu Cleaner via the Ubuntu Dash or the applications menu in Ubuntu.
After the Ubuntu Cleaner application opens, you will see a display like in the following image:

To do scanning or check the junk files on your device, select the menus on the left side of the application. There are many types of junk files that you can choose to check such as, cache browser, apt cache, old kernel etc.
Select the type of junk file you want to check by ticking the type of junk file. You can check all the menus if you want to check all types of junk files, or you can just select a few menus, like the following:

Then after selecting the type of junk files you want to check, Ubuntu Cleaner will automatically check all the junk files on the system. Wait for the junk file scanning process to finish. When it’s finished, it will display the trash files that were found as follows:

All the lists on the main menu are all the junk files that Ubuntu Cleaner has found, you can delete the junk files as you wish.
Select the junk files you want to delete by ticking the files you want to delete, then to delete the selected files, select the button Clean which is in the lower right corner of the application.

Then wait for the cleaning or deletion of the junk files to finish. If it’s done, you’ve successfully deleted the junk files on your Ubuntu.
Perform regular cleaning of junk files. You can do it every 2 weeks if you often install applications, do updates, or delete apps and so on.
