Mozilla Releases Final Version of Firefox 55.0, With Added WebVR Features
Since entering the development stage on June 14, 2022 and releasing the previous thirteen trial versions, the final version of Firefox 55.0 is now ready for use on GNU/Linux, Windows and MacOS operating systems.
Mozilla released Firefox 55.0 officially on August 8, 2022. You can use the latest Firefox by downloading it on the official Firefox page and installing it on your device.
What’s New In Mozilla Firefox 55.0
Firefox 55.0 comes with various improvements and new features added. One of the most exciting new features available in Firefox 55.0 is the ability of web browser this can do restore browsing session that has many browsing tabs by instant.
Then one of the other interesting features is the introduction of WebVR technology which allows users to use the device virtual reality by using Firefox. Firefox is a little late on this feature, as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge – profit companies, and not Mozilla – have already released the WebVR feature.
If previously you didn’t know or didn’t know how to enable search suggestions, in Firefox 55.0 search suggestions will be activated automatically default. That way, you are now able to perform Web searches via address bar by using a variety of different search engines that are pre-installed default.
In this version, Firefox simplifies the print job by using the Print Preview feature. Firefox 55.0 also removes Adobe Flash Player plugins By default, it’s been more than two years since Mozilla has made sure it won’t activate it until users activate it themselves.
Flash plugins are now also only allowed on websites that use protocol “http://” and “https://”. Apart from that, Firefox also finally allows you to improve the performance of your web browser from the Preferences / Options page.
Although still in development, Firefox 55.0 also has tools for retrieving screenshots. This feature allows Firefox users to take sscreenshot from a web page, which can then be saved on local storage media or uploaded to storage media cloud.
