Synopsis of The Marksman

Review of The Marksman
“The Marksman” is more like a drama than a thriller, but truly an older West than anything else—and a familiar person. It’s a story we see often, most recently in Paul Greengrass-Tom Hanks’ “World News”: The struggling old cowboy (-ish) doesn’t want any part of the desperate innocent, but in the end he does. perilous journey.
The suspense-free narrative moves slowly, and stumbles at refreshing moments (you’re carrying what looks like hundreds of thousands of cash, you’re escaping cartels and the FBI, you… use credit cards everywhere?). The gaps between the action sequences are decent, fairly simple, although from the scores quoted by “Scario”, one would think this is a thriller.

In fact, it’s not clear why the film is called “The Marksman”, as this ability only appears in a few scenes and isn’t Jim’s trademark, and hasn’t even been discussed.
