But what happens if the wallpaper itself brings disaster to the smartphone which will make users panic and look for ways to get their smartphone back to normal condition. Based on a tweet from the famous Twitter leaker @UniverseIce, now many smartphones experience errors or hangs when using wallpapers. At first glance the photo looks very good because it is a natural landscape with an interesting composition. Unfortunately when this wallpaper is used on the homescreen, the smartphone will automatically crash or hang directly by making the homescreen black. Then the smartphone will restart repeatedly until it can’t be used.
That’s why @UniverseIce warned Twitter users and everyone else not to try those wallpapers at all. In addition, we are asked to ignore if someone sends us an image similar to this problematic wallpaper. Even @UniverseIce via its official Twitter account displays the original wallpaper with the name 1.JPG which has the initial file metadata. But again, we shouldn’t try wallpaper images at all because many smartphones experience errors.
Seeing these problems, Lucky Sebastian as an expert on Gadgets from Indonesia also uses wallpaper on his smartphone. Lucky did this to prove whether the news was true and to dispel the curiosity of the Indonesian people. On the official Twitter account @gadtorade, Lucky Sebastian also shows the bad effects that occur when wallpaper is installed on a smartphone. The smartphone appears to be restarting continuously and is forced to do a Factory Reset so that the smartphone returns to its original state.
Even if the smartphone is successfully restored after doing a Factory Reset, the data on this device will also be lost. After looking at the rescue logs of these installed wallpapers, Lucky found the metadata containing the code which messed up the java runtime with lots of errors which could be one of the reasons. Still through his official Twitter account, Lucky also said that this wallpaper affects several Samsung smartphones which are most likely using the Android 10 operating system and Google Pixel. While smartphones with other brands such as OPPO, Xiaomi, and others are not affected by this wallpaper.
Furthermore, the Twitter account @justfiddin also responded to Lucky Sebastian’s tweet by revealing the solution he had been pursuing. After the wallpaper made his smartphone screen turn off, he managed to make the device return to normal by changing the wallpaper in a different way. To be able to change the wallpaper, @justfiddin press the power button twice to access the camera and take photos. Then the photo is set as wallpaper. According to him, this method has succeeded in making the smartphone reusable.
But it looks like this wallpaper will produce different effects on various smartphones because some restart immediately and some just turn off the screen. If the smartphone restarts repeatedly, it looks like you can fix the smartphone like Lucky Sebastian did. It’s still not clear why this 1.JPG wallpaper was created and can make the smartphone hang. However, if you look at the number of smartphone users who experience this problem, then you should never activate this wallpaper on your device.
