Conditions for studying – With the same mood as the previous days that is Happy. Night after night can still be passed with the spirit that reigns willingly. But don’t get me wrong when you’re still in a bad state, maybe there’s still a lot that’s stored in your mind, so you don’t want to say beautiful words.
This time we will talk about the conditions for studying which are clear in the book of Ta’lim Mu ta’allim which is argued by the Prophet’s friend, Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Talib in which the poem reads:
اَلا لاَ اَلُ اْلعِلْمَ لاَّ ا انٍ
اَءٍ اصْطِباَرٍ لْغَةٍ ادِ اذٍ لِ ان
which means “Remember! You will not gain knowledge except with 6 conditions. I will tell everything in detail namely; Intelligence, willingness, patience, cost, guidance from the teacher and a long time.
6 Requirements for Seeking Knowledge According to Imam Shafi
1. Intelligence
Regarding intelligence, all creatures (humans) must be intelligent. Why do I say that, because we have a mind that distinguishes humans from other creatures. therefore every human being in this world must be intelligent and must use his mind to think.
2. Willingness
Well, this is indeed a difficult thing to have of the many creatures (humans). But whoever is serious, surely what he wants will be achieved. as the saying goes “Whoever is serious, will surely get it” Whoever sincerely does it, will get it.
or I often call itThe process will not betray the results”
3. Be patient
Patience is accepting what has been ordained by the Khaliq and we must accept it. If in seeking knowledge there is no patience in him, then the conditions for seeking knowledge in this third part still need to be reconsidered.. Trying to be patient is hard but again “Whoever is serious, he will surely get it”
4. Fees/Money
Well, besides being patient and willing, we also have to prepare costs or materials when someone wants to study. In this youth, if we don’t have the material (cost) I don’t think what we want to do is possible. Why is that? because in this day and age everything is material and material.
5. Guidance From Teachers
Guidance from a teacher is indeed necessary when we are in learning we have no one to accompany us, we are afraid that what we think or what comes to our mind cannot be controlled by ourselves. Therefore, it is necessary to have the guidance of a teacher. and the last
6. Long Time
Indeed, in studying we must take a long time. If it’s only for one or 2 years we study, we are afraid that what we know is not widespread and there are many other fears. Elementary School 6 years, Junior High School 3 years, Vocational High School 3 years College 4 years, that’s not a long time.
As what I’ve heard that “Seek knowledge from your mother’s cradle until the end of your life.” So even though I have completed the education above, I don’t think it’s enough.
