Xiaomi Redmi 7, current price and specifications

In general, the shape of the mobile phone market in Indonesia is like a pyramid. The largest market segment is the lowest part which is commonly known as the low-end class or also commonly called the entry level. Seeing this, all cellphone manufacturers except Apple seem to be competing to dominate this largest class. One of the vendors that dominates the low-end circles is Xiaomi, especially with its Redmi 7 product.

By targeting the entry-level market, of course, Xiaomi is trying to present a cellphone with a fairly strong performance at a low price. Xiaomi through Redmi 7 made several quality improvements compared to the previous series Redmi 6.

One that is quite prominent is the use of the Snapdragon 632 chipset from Qualcomm.

The use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset with an octa-core Kryo 250 processor is claimed to be able to provide a 40% increase in performance. For gaming use, Redmi 7 has been equipped with an Adreno 506 GPU which can produce sharper graphics. Although not as fast and smooth as if using a high-end processor, but at a price of Rp. 1 million is a luxury in itself.

Pros of Xiaomi Redmi 7

With a very affordable price, there are several advantages that Xiaomi Redmi 7 has that can be taken into consideration in deciding which option to buy.

The following are some of the advantages of Xiaomi Redmi 7:

1. 8 MP Selfie Camera

With a price tag of around Rp. 1 million, of course the use of an 8 MP selfie camera is among the highest in the low-end cell phone class. In general, in the 1 million price range, most entry-level phones still use a 5 MP front camera.

2. Battery Capacity 4,000 mAh

Redmi 7 is equipped with a Li-Po battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh which is quite large for a low-end class phone.

3. microSD slot

Redmi 7 is only equipped with a fairly small internal storage memory of around 16 GB. Well, luckily Redmi 7 still provides a slot for adding external memory.

Disadvantages of Xiaomi Redmi 7

There are several shortcomings found on this Redmi 7 phone, including the following.

1. Vulnerable to Scratches

The use of glossy plastic material on the body of the Redmi 7 makes fingerprint marks clearly visible on this phone. In addition, this glossy coating is also prone to scratches. So always provide a protective case to keep the body smooth.

2. Not Support NFC

With the specifications as above, unfortunately Redmi 7 is still not equipped with NFC. In fact, in the era of digital payments like today, the existence of NFC is really needed to support e-money filling activities, balance checks and other digital payments.

3. Charger has not Quick Charge 4.0

Although Redmi 7 has used a large capacity battery, unfortunately this phone does not support the fast charging feature.

Conclusion

Redmi 7 can be said to be the best phone with a fairly cheap price in the range of Rp. 1 Million. If it is only used to support light daily activities such as chatting, social media and web browsing, it seems that Redmi 7 is quite worth it.
