In order to continue to maintain loyal customers, Xiaomi is constantly making various innovations and updates on their latest mobile phones. You could say that Xiaomi is now not only concentrating on the production of low-end mobile phones, but the production of mid-end and high-end mobile phones cannot be underestimated.
Recently, along with the launch of the Mi 8 Youth series which targets the low end mobile market, Xiaomi has also released the Mi 8 Pro series. One of the most striking differences is the absence of a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. In this Mi 8 Pro series, Xiaomi has moved the fingerprint scanner to the front screen (in-display fingerprint scanner).
In addition, Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro also comes with a new variant using 8 GB of RAM, this is bigger than the regular Mi 8 series which only has a capacity of 6 GB. But that doesn’t mean the Mi 8 Pro isn’t available with 6GB of RAM. So the Mi 8 Pro variant has a choice of 6 GB and 8 GB RAM. What is unfortunate about the latest version of Mi 8 is the decrease in battery capacity used, which is only 3,000 mAh. Whereas in the regular Mi 8 variant, the battery has a capacity of 3,400 mAh.
Apart from updates on the fingerprint, RAM and battery, there are no significant changes in other parts. The overall specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro are still the same as the regular Mi 8 series. Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro still uses the Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 (10 nm) chipset with support for an Octa Core (4x 2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold and 4 x 1.8 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processor and Adreno 630 GPU.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro still uses a Super AMOLED screen with a size of 6.21 inches. The resolution used is 2248 x 1080 pixels, and there is a notch at the top of the earpiece, front camera and infrared sensor. The front camera is 20 MP resolution. While the rear camera uses dual cameras where each has a 12 MP resolution with telephoto features f/2.4 and wide-angle f/1.8.
