The target for women’s leadership is up to 20 percent. SOE Minister Erick Thohir explained that the role of women in high management status in SOEs is still below international standards.

Currently, women’s leadership in the ranks of record companies is in the range of 11 percent. In fact, the role of women is important in many ways. Except from an economic point of view, they are the backbone of raising children.

Therefore, his faction aims to increase the number of female administrators in BUMN so that it can increase even more. This will be implemented through a series of teaching and improvement programs with the support of related needs, communities, and so on.

“I asked for 15 percent this year. Then, in 2023, the target for women’s leadership in BUMN is 20 percent,” she said during a meeting with journalists at the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI), Wednesday (04.07.2022).

Erick continued, apart from improving the skills and abilities of women in the ranks of BUMN, the Department of BUMN continued to prioritize a healthy and empowered work environment for women.

He said that the protection of women was another main point that had to be raised. This protects women from sexual harassment in the workplace

“Apart from quality, the working situation must also be good. This allows SOEs to better serve citizens so they can compete in the global arena,” he said.

According to him, leadership training cannot be generalized. Like women who do not only play a role in the economy, but also as housewives who raise their children.

“Well, this leader must change the training courses. Like the work situation in SOEs, it must also be good and healthy for female administrators and female employees,” she said. Erick added that the talent of BUMN today is not only facing obstacles and the dynamics of the national economy, but also globally.

In the midst of the epidemic, the transformation process is going fast, for example through changing attitudes towards changing business processes towards digitalization and increasingly fierce global competition and the digital age and tomorrow.

“SOEs have to adjust because the HR landscape is different. The key is that several HR managers in SOEs must immediately take real action to respond to this change by preparing various HR enhancements that can be spread out in front of remembering signs of changes in management, business mode, or leadership style, “explained Erick.
