The New BMW M3 Competition and BMW M4 Competition are Official in Indonesia. BMW Group Indonesia has issued the BMW M3 Competition Sedan and BMW M4 Competition Coupé. both have updates in design, performance and features.
“We present the new BMW M3 Competition Sedan and BMW M4 Competition Coupé. Stronger performance, bolder design, more sophisticated technology,” said Jodie O’tania, Head of Communications at BMW Group Indonesia during a virtual presentation of the BMW M3 and M4, Wednesday (30 June 2022).
Both sports cars have the BMW M4 GT3 chassis technology, an expressive exterior design, to a new interior with high-quality materials and the BMW M Drive Professional operating system, which is used for the first time in this new sports car series.
Price of BMW M3 Competition and BMW M4 Competition
The sales package for these two sports cars includes BMW Service Inclusive, a program that waivers the cost of vehicle maintenance for customers for 5 years or 60,000 km (whichever comes first), and a 36 month warranty without mileage limitations.

1. Design
The Competition BMW M3 and the Competition BMW M4 are bolder. Seen from the front, the appearance of the new BMW M3 and the latest BMW M4 is very different. It is characterized by a new, larger grille. The kidney grille typical of BMW cars now looks great on the new M3 and M4.
According to Jodie, the frameless kidney grille on the BMW M3 Competition and M4 Competition is inspired by motorsport design.
In contrast to the vertical radiator grille with horizontal air grilles, wide fenders with BMW M gills on the front and air grilles on the front and rear aprons characterize the appearance of the new BMW M3 and M4.
The sedan and coupé have a roof made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) with aerodynamically optimized fin antennas, a rear spoiler and two BMW M exhausts.
Adaptive LED headlights with BMW laser light are standard on BMWs. These two cars are available with 3 limited exterior paint options, namely Sao Paulo Yellow, Toronto Red metallic, and Isle of Man Green metallic.
2. Interiors
Inside, the BMW M3 Competition Sedan and BMW M4 Competition Coupé offer an ergonomic cockpit design. Inside are the new, electrically adjustable BMW M sports seats. The seats are covered in soft grained merino leather with air circulation.
The current bench design looks sporty because of the BMW M color components and plain color leather. Likewise, both cars are equipped with an M Carbon interior package. Carbon fiber material is not only present in the interior trim and central console, but has also been upgraded for the first time for use on the steering wheel and shift paddles.
3. Engine 510 Dk
BMW M3 Competition and BMW M4 Competition have a 3.0 liter 6 cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine with 2 mono-scroll turbochargers, indirect charge air cooling, Valvetronic, dual VANOS, High Precision Injection (maximum 350 bar).
This engine combines the high speed characteristics of the BMW M with the latest BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. Two turbochargers with an indirect-fill air cooling system, an air-generating system for maximizing airflow and a direct-acting injection system with a maximum pressure of 350 bar help deliver instant power.
This BMW engine is capable of producing a maximum torque of 650 Nm from 2,750 to 5,500 rpm. Maximum power reaches 510 hp which is available at 6,250 rpm with a red-line at 7,200 rpm.
As a result, the BMW accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Acceleration from 0-200 km/h in just 12.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
4. Stability
This BMW is intended to deliver the combination of dynamism, agility and accuracy that is the hallmark of BMW M vehicles.
Bracing packages specially developed for the engine compartment, front axle subframe, under-floor bracing, and on the rear axle subframe with direct connection to the body contribute to the control of the car that can be controlled precisely even at extreme acceleration.
BMW fixed the legs with different styles and different wheel dimensions for the front and rear axles.
The BMW M3 Competition Sedan is equipped with dual spoke BMW M light alloy 825 M Bicolor Jet Black high-sheen forged wheels, while the BMW M4 Competition Coupé is equipped with dual spoke BMW M light alloy 826 M Bicolor forged wheels. Jet Black forged wheels. polished with translucent shadows.
Both come with different dimensions for the front and rear wheels, the front is 19×9.5J and the rear is 20×10.5J. Both models use tires with dimensions of 275/35 R19 at the front and 285/30 R20 at the rear.
5. Features
BMW presents the BMW M Drive Professional, which is specially planned for circuit driving. These include the innovative BMW M Traction Control, which allows the integrated wheel slip restriction function to be matched to the driver’s personal preferences and needs using the DSC system (more than ten settings).
Other components of the BMW M Drive Professional are the BMW M Drift Analyzer, which records and assesses drift statistics, and the BMW M Laptimer, which records lap times and other info from circuit drives. The M Drive Professional package features the new M Traction Control function, which is accessible in the TRACK model.
This traction control allows the driver to adjust the level of interference for wheel slip. The Setup button on the center console provides direct access to engine, chassis, steering and braking system options, shift companion and traction control.
It has features including, a great driver contribution system that eases the driver’s workload. The two sports cars are equipped with Active Park Distance control with front and rear sensors, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention and Lane Departure Warning.
