The era of Valentino Rossi in Moto GP is over

The era of Valentino Rossi in Moto GP is over – The boss of Aprilia Gresini, Fausto Gresini, said that the era of Valentino Rossi (Petronas Yamaha SRT) was over. He reflected on the bad results inscribed by The Doctor – Rossi’s nickname – in MotoGP 2022.

Rossi’s slump in recent seasons. Rossi has not even won a race in a long time. The Italian rider finally scored a victory at the 2022 Dutch MotoGP. Since then, Rossi’s greatest achievement has been to finish in the top three.

Rossi’s bad performance is again presented in MotoGP 2022. Rossi has only won one tribune in 14 races this season. Rossi climbed to the top of the stands when he finished 3rd in the MotoGP Andalusia 2022.

Then, Rossi achieved quite good results in the next four races even though he did not rise to the top of the stands. However, Rossi’s performance fell by not getting points in the next six races.

Rossi 4x did not manage to finish and gave up two races because he was positive for Covid-19. After recovering from Covid-19, Rossi can only occupy the twelfth status in the last two races of this season.

Rossi also carved the worst gain throughout his career in the world of professional racing. Rossi finished 16th in the final standings only because he was able to collect 66 points so far this season. Rossi’s worst initial achievement was finishing 9th when he took part in the 125cc class in the 1996 season.

This evidence made Gresini view that Rossi’s era in MotoGP was over. The Aprilia boss actually wanted to see Rossi win the race again. However, he thinks it’s hard to come by because of the emergence of several young potential riders in recent seasons.

“Vale – Rossi’s nickname, as we all know, he is an extraordinary rider. He can show that at his current age,” said Gresini, quoting from GP One, Sunday (12/20/2022).

“Sometimes I think it would be very good if Rossi won the race. However, it feels sad to see him finish 15th or 13th,” he said.

“I see him as one of the best. He’s still going strong, but now there are some riders who are in their 20s. He will be 42 years old next season. Everything has a period. It’s ugly to mention, but it’s a fact,” Gresini said.
