Sony Presents Linux Drivers For PS5 Controller – There is good news for Linux gaming fans. Sony has released an official Linux driver for the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. This allows players to use the controller to play Linux games.
Quoted from Tom’s Hardware, Tuesday (29/12), the new Linux kernel driver fully supports key functionality of Sony’s PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, including gamepad, touchpad and motion sensors both in USB and Bluetooth models. This was delivered by Phoronix.
At the same time, the driver does not yet provide continued power support from newer controllers, such as Adaptive Triggers and VCM-based haptics.
Sony’s PlayStation console has long been known to be Linux-friendly. Throughout the years Linux users have installed this operating mechanism on their PlayStation machines. Therefore, it is not surprising that the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller is now supported by Linux.
For Linux gamers, the added support for the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller means they can use it to play games and want Sony to make other PlayStation peripherals compatible with that base.
