News – Muslims who are performing the Hajj 2023 will perform wukuf on Arafah. So, when wukuf at Arafah 2023? Wukuf at Arafah is a very important part of the Hajj pilgrimage. Hajj pilgrims who do not perform wukuf at Arafah are considered not to have performed Hajj.
Hajj pilgrims from all over the world will gather at Padang Arafah when the wukuf begins. The Hajj pilgrims stopped carrying out all activities and remained silent in Padang Arafah, offering as many prayers as possible to Allah SWT.
Most scholars are of the opinion that the time for performing wukuf on Arafah is on the 9th of Dzulhijjah, namely after sunset (dzuhur time) until dawn on the 10th day of Dzulhijjah. This has been mentioned in a hadith narrated by Abdurrahman bin Ya'Mar RA, in the history of At-Tirmidhi:
Rasulullah SAW said:
“The Hajj was present at Arafah. Whoever comes at night jam'in (10 Dzulhijjah before dawn) then in fact he still gets Hajj.”
There is no specific time for carrying out wukuf, either night or day. However, Hajj pilgrims who perform wukuf during the day are asked to stay at Arafat until sunset or maghrib. Meanwhile, for those who perform wukuf at night, there are no special rules that apply.
When will wukuf at Arafah 2023? The Saudi Arabian government has set the 2023 Arafat wukuf to fall on June 27.
This is in accordance with the decision of the isbat court in Saudi Arabia, which stated that 9 Dzulhijjah 1444 H falls on June 27 2023.
Below is information on the schedule and legal wukuf in Arafah:

What is the Wukuf Law on Arafah?
Actually, what is the law of wukuf at Arafah during the Hajj pilgrimage? The scholars agree that wukuf is the great pillar of Hajj. Rasulullah SAW gave orders to a caller to shout, which was narrated by Abdurrahman bin Ya'Mar RA, in the hadith narrated by At-Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and Ash-habus Sunan:
“Haji is Arafah. Whoever comes (to Arafah) on the night of gathering (while staying in Muzdalifah or the night before Eid), before dawn, then he has achieved Hajj.”
In Matan al-Ghayanah wa al-Taqrib by Abu Syuja' al-Ashfahani, it is explained that people who deliberately neglect one of the obligations of the Hajj pilgrimage are obliged to pay a check or fine. Narrated by Imam Baihaqi with authentic sanad from Ibn Abbas, he said that:
“Whoever abandons one of the rituals of the Hajj (hajj obligations), then he is obliged to pay a dam (fine).”
Wukuf at Arafah is carried out after the Wukuf sermon and the plural qashar taqdim prayers for midday and Asr in a solemn and calm state. During wukuf, Hajj pilgrims are advised to increase istigfar, dhikr, salawat and prayer in accordance with the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.
That is the explanation regarding wukuf at Arafah 2023. Hopefully the explanation above is easy to understand, OK?
