Samsung’s domestic helper robot can lift clothesline

Samsung’s domestic helper robot can lift clothesline – Samsung is upgrading a robot called Bot Handy which is a household confidant. This robot can lift clotheslines, put dirty dishes in the dishwasher, pour drinks, and set the dining table.

President and Head of Samsung Research Sebastian Seung explained that this robot is planned to be an extension of the wearer’s hand when he needs help in the kitchen, living room or other places.

In the video demo shown at CES 2022, this black and white robot has a tall and skinny shape, with 2 digital eyes that can change its expression. This robot has one arm that can move at three points, with hands that are like claws at the ends.

Bot Handy has two cameras that are placed on top of the robot body and near the hand to recognize objects. This robot can move around space, rotate on its axis, and raise its body to a position to reach objects that are higher.

Samsung explains that this robot can see the material of another object so that the object can be held with the right force. This robot can also hold objects of the same size, weight and various shapes.

Currently, Handy Bot is still in the stage of upgrading and we don’t know when it will be offered. Samsung didn’t announce pricing or availability dates either, and initially the South Korean giant only showed idea-shaped products at CES.

With the exception of Bot Handy, Samsung is demonstrating the latest version of Bot Care, an individual trust robot that was first shown in 2022. As an individual trustee, this robot can remind the wearer to take a break when busy at work or remember a meeting agenda.

Similar to the Handy Bot, Samsung did not explain how far the Bot Care has been and when it would be issued.

But there is one robot that has been confirmed to be marketed this year, namely a vacuum washing robot called JetBot 90 AI+. This robot is equipped with LIDAR, 3D sensors and AI to help it recognize objects so that it can be avoided when cleaning the floor.

Samsung says these vacuum washers are smart enough to approach less risky objects, such as children’s toys, and to stay away from fragile objects like vases. This vacuum has a camera built in which can be used to check pets when the owner is not in the house.

The JetBot 90 AI+ will launch in the United States in the first half of 2022, but Samsung hasn’t announced pricing yet.
