SG vs Lyon: Les Parisiens Lose, Neymar Injured – Paris Saint-Germain was beaten by Olympique Lyon in the continuation of Ligue 1. The defeat was bad news for PSG because Neymar was injured.
The PSG versus Lyon match heated up the 14th week of Ligue 1. The match at the Parc des Princes, Monday (14/12/2022) morning WIB, ended with a 1-0 score for Lyon’s victory.
Lyon’s goal was made by Tino Kadewere in the 35th minute. He scored after using a pass from Karl Toko Ekambi.
In the injury time period, Neymar injured his ankle after being tackled by Thiago Mendes. The tackle then resulted in Mendes being sent off by the referee following VAR monitoring.
Neymar himself seemed to be in a lot of pain after getting a tackle from the Lyon midfielder. The Brazilian striker then had to be carried off the field on a stretcher and was seen shedding tears.
Neymar was originally expected to be taken to the hospital on Sunday (12/13/2022) night at the place for an MRI. However, PSG subsequently decided to wait until Monday (14/12/2022) morning at the venue to witness the change in the player’s ankle.
“He is with the physiotherapists and doctors and we have to wait for the test tomorrow (Monday),” PSG coach Thomas Tuhel told Telefoot after the match.
PSG definitely hope that Neymar’s injury is not serious and there is no damage to the ligaments. Because, the 28-year-old player is on fire by scoring seven goals in the last four matches.
Due to their defeat with Lyon, PSG dropped to 3rd place in the French League standings with 28 points from 14 matches. They were shifted by Lyon who rose to 2nd place with 29 points.
