More than three million PlayStation virtual reality headsets have been sold worldwide since their release in October 2022, along with 21.9 million PSVR games sold to the market.
This is the latest record announced directly by Sony this morning, PSVR’s first record, which was one month after its release and sales reached 915,000 units after which sales had stalled. And in March, Sony lowered the PSVR price to around 4 million in Indonesia, and made the PSVR the cheapest VR headset on the market today.
There are currently 3 brands of VR headsets on the market, namely PSVR from Playstation, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. While HTC Vive and Oculus run on PCs but require high specs and are expensive, PSVR only needs a Playstation 4 console to run. This is what makes PSVR superior to its rivals.

Playstation 4 itself has now sold more than 82 million units worldwide, so when compared to PSVR sales, only a few console owners have bought PSVR. However, Playstation’s PSVR currently has no rival on consoles, because the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles currently don’t have VR support.
And in the Playstation Blog page apart from announcing the sale of these 3 million units, they announced a total of nearly 340 game titles sold worldwide. And here is a list of the 10 most played PSVR games:
