Despite Khabib Nurmagomedov’s pressure when his fighting days are over, UFC boss Dana White believes he can pull The Eagle out of retirement in 2022. He explained to ESPN: “I once asked Khabib, I talked about how much money does it take to get rich in Dagestan?
“He explained $5 million, and you’re rich for the rest of your life.”
“Khabib has more than $5 million, so I don’t know how much money will bring him back to the Octagon.”
If White succeeds in overturning Khabib Nurmagomedov’s decision to leave his profession, Cormier thinks he should appeal against the 31-year-old’s competitive side. DC added: “Dana had to tap into something in her soul to try and make a comeback. He’s making so much money outside the octagon at this point, that it should be something that will push him competitively to come back and compete.”
“Because I don’t think it’s money that makes the Octagon come back.”
White will meet Khabib next month as he approaches his 3rd UFC job at Fight Island, which will culminate in a light skirmish between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. Their face-to-face was decided to determine tomorrow, which had been in obscurity since October. White had given up on the chance of introducing an interim title into the mix, explaining: “No instantaneous title, I’ll find out next month.”
