www.rancakmedia.com – Instagram Stories will soon have a new option to save unfinished stories as drafts. This feature allows users to return to their designs and finish them later if they wish.
While Instagram says the feature is still in the works, screenshots of what the feature looks like have been leaked online. The screenshot shows that Instagram is working on a new pop-up that will allow users to save their story as a draft or discard it and start a new story.
The social media platform took to Twitter to confirm that it was working on a draft of the story. In a tweet, Instagram said that users will soon be able to complete their incomplete stories using the story draft feature, but without promising a launch date or rough schedule. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, also tweeted that a story drafting feature was “coming soon”. Mosseri claims that this is a feature that Instagram users are very interested in.
Tipster Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screenshot of what this feature will look like as soon as Instagram announced it. The screenshot shows that it displays a three-option dialog box when the user tries to exit in the middle of story creation.
The first option allows the user to discard the story and start a new one. This will remove all previous changes to the story and users will not be able to return to them once they click Discard. There is a second option called “Save Draft” which allows users to save their story changes in a draft.
It will not publish the story, but rather save it as a draft for users to refer to later. The third is Cancel, which hides the dialog box and allows the user to re-create the story. This button is useful if the user accidentally presses the back button while working on a story.
Currently, Instagram only shows you two options when you hit the back button – Discard and Cancel. A new Save Draft option will be added soon, as previously mentioned.
