In the Trial Match of MK Dons vs. Tottenham with a score of 3-1. New Tottenham Hotspur chairman Nuno Espirito Santo believes his team are on the right track when they win over MK Dons in the friendly on Thursday.
In the match at MK Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur won with a score of 3-1 through goals from Son Heung-min (35′), Dele Alli (57′), and Lucas Moura (81′). 1 goal in response to MK Dons was formed by John Freeman six minutes before dispersal.
The former chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers, believes Tottenham Hotspur are on the right path to be in better form.
Even though he only won in the pre-season match, the performance of Son Heung-min and his friends made Nuno happy because he had been the same as ordered during practice.
“We are preparing, making, some good things, some things that need updating, always about that,” said Nuno Espirito Santo on the club’s official website, Thursday 29/07/21.
“We tried to reproduce what we did in the trial session. We must believe in our talents and the power to express ourselves. That’s the move we were hoping for.”
According to Nuno, making a lot of goals either in pre-season matches or competitive matches has a similar correlation to the team. some players are getting more optimistic.
“We had more and more chances, kicking the ball hard at the goal was mandatory,” said Nuno.
“Because if you can score more goals, the better you will feel, the more optimistic you will be. Every opportunity we make, we have to take it.”
After MK Dons, Tottenham will play two friendly matches in a row against two London teams, Chelsea (August 5) and Arsenal (August 8).
In last Wednesday’s clash as they won 3-0 away at Colchester United, this time the Lilywhites will take another step forward in terms of opposition with MK Dons in League One.
Nuno Espirito Santo is once again expected to showcase a mix of youth and experience in the Spurs starting XI as he looks back on several of his players approaching next month’s Premier League opener against Man City.
The likes of Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies, Joe Rodon and Moussa Sissoko could all be on board following their return to the Hotspur Way after a long break due to their involvement in Euro 2022 this summer.
Players like Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon could also get into the XI after missing out on both teams’ pre-season games so far.

As it was the Spurs who would come out victorious 3-1 that night, Don had a few things to be proud of, not least John Freeman’s excellent finishing which was said to be at least worthy of Martin’s men for their performance.
FIRST HALF
Don was given the chance to take the lead just five minutes into the game after Scott Twine was pulled to the ground by Alfie Whiteman. Matt O’Riley took the work to take the penalty, with Whiteman paying him to deny the Don’s lead.
Heung-Min Son and Sergio Reguilon both had chances for the Spurs who didn’t hit the mark. The latter did find the target moments later but his effort was denied by Franco Ravizzoli.
Son had the ball in the net in the middle of the first set but was denied by the linesman’s flag. The Dons, then, were still giving their visitors good play, keeping good possession and attacking with direction and pace at every opportunity that presented itself.
It was Tottenham, however, who would have broken the deadlock with 36 minutes into play – Son, beating the offside trap moments before shooting through Ravizzoli who ran into the far corner. 0-1.
Twine almost equalized with 5 minutes remaining in the first set, but his free-kick was saved brilliantly by Alfie Whiteman, who made a full jump to his right. Darling tested Whiteman, from the next corner, with repeated headers that the Spurs stopper claimed. HALF TIME – MK Dons 0, Tottenham Hotspur 1
SECOND HALF
Dons started the 2nd set well, with David Kasumu at the start of the game. He came close to providing an assist for Mo Eisa but he was dragged too far from goal to create a chance.
Elsewhere, Ravizzoli saved Spurs’ effort on two occasions – first with a smack over Son and a one-on-one to deny the South Korean. Twine tried their luck with a shot in the 55th minute from far that went wide from the left.
However, three minutes later, Spurs were able to double their lead and, of course, it was Dele who scored, giving him a pass from Son to score, once again, in front of the Cowshed – just as he had done time and time again throughout his time arriving through the line. at the MK Stadium. 0-2.
Despite being minus 2 goals, Ravizzoli was brilliant between the goal lines and he twice kept the visitors from extending the lead, including an excellent stop of reaction from an empty header.
Twine were given another chance to score from a free kick when Eisa was brought down on the D side shortly after the hour mark. His effort was right on target but was helped well by Whiteman.
Don was hit shortly after as Max Watters was forced off the pitch with an injury. He was replaced by Charlie Brown.
Several other shifts followed, with Dean Lewington, Zak Jules, Ethan Robson and Brooklyn Ilunga all competing. The remaining reserve players entered after a few moments.
One of the substitutes, tempter James Morton, earned Cowshed praise with a goal-line block to stop Dele from doubling his tally.
There was nothing Morton or anyone else could do about Spurs adding a 3rd goal in the 81st minute – Lucas, the scorer, ran through and beat Laurie Walker with a powerful finish in front of goal.
However, the home fans among 15,000 in the MK Phase got something to celebrate at the end of the match thanks to John Freeman, who put MK Dons on the scoresheet with an excellent finish from the edge of the box. 1-3.
The sound of several MK Dons fans celebrating is the perfect sound to end. After several months of closed action, the MK Stadium finally reopened for business. Onwards, but not Sunderland before the trip to AFC Bournemouth and Bolton Wanderers for Russell Martin and his men.
