Sometimes we need to edit scanned PDF files, ebooks, forms, or certain notes. As you know, to do so is not as easy as editing the DOC file.

You need special PDF Editor software such as Adobe Acrobat DC. However, Adobe Acrobat DC is a paid software. Fortunately, there are many free PDF editing alternatives that you can use.

I’ve put together a free and easy way to edit PDFs. Check out the following method.

How to Edit PDF Online

Here are some ways to edit pdf online that you can do.

1. Edit PDF With Google Docs

Editing PDF files in Google Docs is very easy, but you need an internet connection to do it. Make sure your internet network is smooth and prepare PDF documents to be edited.

1. Go to drive.google.com.
2. Upload the PDF file you want to edit.
3. After the file is uploaded, right click on the file > open with > Google docs/Google docs.
4. You can directly edit the PDF document.
5. If you want to download a PDF file that you have edited, click on the file in the upper left corner > download > PDF document.

Apart from Google Docs, there are many websites that provide online PDF editing. Unfortunately, most sites only provide edits to add images, text, lines, etc. but we can’t change the contents of the PDF.

However, there are several websites that can do it all.

2. Edit PDF Online With Sejda PDF Editor

Next is a tutorial on how to edit PDF files online with the sejda pdf editor. Please refer to the steps below:

1. Prepare the PDF file to be edited
2. Visit Sejda.com
3. Click the green button that says “Edit a PDF Document”.
4. Click “Upload PDF File”
5. PDF files are already editable. There are various editing features that you can use at the top.
6. When finished editing, click “apply changes”
7. You can see the preview first, after making sure it is appropriate, just click “download”.

The function of each edit feature in Sejda.com is:

• Text: Add text or edit existing text
• Links: Insert links to specific text, images, or parts of the document
• Forms: A feature for filling out PDF files in the form of forms
• Images: Add images to documents
• Sign: Create and add a signature
• Whiteout: Delete or close white text

In the example here I edited the first paragraph by changing the text color to red.

3. Edit PDF Online with PDF Filler

How to use it as follows.

1. Visit edit-pdf-online.com.
2. Click “Browse for a Document on Your Computer”.
3. At the top there are various features that you can use.
4. When finished editing, click “done”.
5. Save the document as PDF.
6. Register for a 30 day free trial.

The function of each feature is as follows:

• Text: Enter new text or delete existing text
• Sign: Add a signature to the document
• Date: Insert the date into the document
• Cross and Check: Can be used to fill out forms
• Circle: Make a circle, circle the text
• Image: Adding an image to the document
• Text Box: Creates a box in which text can be added
• Sticky: Creates a yellow sticky note that can be pasted anywhere in the document
• Highlight: Gives color highlights to certain writing, its function is like a highlighter.

How to Edit PDF in Microsoft Word

This is one of the easiest ways to edit PDFs. Because most of us are very familiar with Microsoft Word. And, most likely install it on a laptop or PC.

How to edit a pdf in Word you can do with the steps below.

1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Click “file” in the top left corner.
3. Click Open > Browse > Select the PDF file you want to edit.
4. A warning will appear like this, just click “OK”.
5. You can start editing, delete text, add new text, and more.
6. For PDFs that contain graphics, they usually cannot be edited using Microsoft Word.
7. If there is a PROTECTED file warning, just click “ENABLE EDITING”
8. After finishing editing, you can save the file again in PDF form, how to:
9. Click “file” in the top left corner
10. Select Save as > change the document type to PDF > click Save.

We recommend that the Microsoft word used is version 2022 and above. For versions older than 2022 usually the text in the file will be messy.

How to Edit PDF on HP

Apart from PC, you can also edit PDF via Android. To do so we need the help of a third party PDF application. This application is free and can be downloaded on Playstore.

Here’s one way to edit PDF on HP that you can do.

1. Install Xodo PDF Reader & Editor on Playstore.
2. Enter the Xodo application, open the PDF file you want to edit.
3. Edit as you wish.

Here the editing features available are:

• add text
• add a note/comment/note
• add signature
• Adding doodles
• add underscore and underline to text

This application does not support editing text that already exists in the document. So it can only add new text, but can’t delete or replace old text.

This application is suitable for those of you who are looking for a way to add text to a pdf online only.

How to Fill out PDF Forms Online

You may have experienced having to fill out a PDF form and it had to be sent in a soft file.

The common way is: Print > Contents > Scan > Send.

I’ll show you how to fill out a PDF form online without having to print it out first. This method can be a solution for those of you who are far from printing and don’t have a printer at home.

Here I will use Sejda.com.

1. Upload the form to be filled to Sejda.com
2. The example here I use the form from BPJS.
3. For a form whose type is dots, we will use the text feature to fill it out.
4. The trick is to click “Text” at the top, then hover over the part of the form that we will fill out.
5. For checklist type forms, how to fill out is to use the “forms” feature.
6. Click “forms” > select the check mark > point to the box to be checked.
7. Continue to the signature section.
8. To fill in the signature, use the “sign” feature > click +new signature
9. Here there will be options: auto signature, draw, image upload, and camera
10. If you already have a signature image file, please select upload image.
11. If not, you can select draw to create a signature manually. Then navigate to the part of the form that must be signed.
12. When finished, don’t forget to “apply changes”, see if the preview is appropriate, then download.
