How to Easily Create Outline Text in Canva
- Open Canva
- Choose Create Design
- Select Text element
- Type the text/writing you want to outline
- Choose Splice Effect
- Finished.
The following describes the steps for creating an outline text in Canva above in detail:
Open Canva: In this first step, please open the Canva site and log in with your account and password.
Select Create Design: Next, please select the menu Create Designfollowed by selecting design type what you want to do. In this example, we choose the type of design: Logo.
Select the Text element: Now the Canva project sheet will open. Here you select an element Text or press T key from your keyboard and select one of the sample text types next to it.
Type the text you want to outline: After you select a text type, now please edit the text with the text or text that you want (in this example I typed: BRANKASPEDIA). In this step you can also adjust the font type, size and color.
Select Splice Effect: Now, from the same toolbar, go to options Effect. The Effects panel will appear on the left. Click option Splice. After you apply the splicing effect, your text will have some kind of outline but it’s not perfect. Custom options will appear below the Splice effect. Set the slider for Offset to zero.
Then, set the slider to Thickness to the value you want depending on the outline view. Now the text that you typed earlier will have an outline that looks clear and perfect.
For the color, you will notice that the outline color depends on the text color. It will be a few colors darker than the text color. One of the options under Splicing is Color. You can change the text color using this option, but the outline color will remain the same.
If you want to change the outline color, close the effects panel and click Text color from the toolbar again. Now, when you change the color, it will only change the outline color and not the text.
