As when activating the app Microsoft Word 2010 the application will automatically open a window containing a blank document. The document can be used to create a new document. To create a new document after you are done with a task, you can follow the steps below that I have provided. ^-^

1. Create a Blank Document in Microsoft Word 2010.

  • Click the Files Tab.
  • Then, click new to bring up a display like the image below!

  • Then, in Available Templates, click Blank Document.
  • Next, click the “Create” button. A new, blank document will appear on your computer screen.
  • You can directly type the document you want to create on the work page.

Notes:

You can also create a new document by using the “Folder” icon on the Quick Access Toolbar or the Ctrl + N keys on your computer keyboard.

  • On the File tab, click “New” to bring up a display like the image below.

  • To use one of the templates that have been provided, Microsoft Word 2010 right-click on one of the templates you want to use and then click the “create” button.

Notes:

The My templates option in Available Templates is used to create documents from user-defined templates. Meanwhile, the “New from existing” option to create a document from several templates contained in the saved file and the “Office.com Templates” option can only be used if the user is connected to the internet network.

  • After the template you want to use has been determined, click the “Create” button. The document template will open and can be used to create an attractive document. You simply enter the title, author’s name, document contents, and other information. In this way, you no longer need to adjust the format and display style of the document.

After the new document is ready, you can type the text you want in the document using the keyboard with the conditions below.

  • Press the letter “AZ” keys, the numbers “0-9”, and punctuation marks such as “period and comma” to type.
  • The “Tab” key is used to start a paragraph. When you click this button, the beginning of the created paragraph will be indented to the right.
  • The space bar is used to separate words.
  • “Enter” key to move lines or paragraphs.

By default Microsoft Word 2010 background is plain white. Microsoft Word 2010 background color can be changed by following the steps below.

  • Open the Microsoft Word 2010 application.
  • Click Toolbar Menu Page Layout.
  • Select “Page Color” and choose the color you want to use as your Microsoft Word 2010 background. When you move the scroll, the display background color will change according to the color at the cursor position.

2. Save the Document in Microsoft Word 2010.

After the document has been created, you need to save it on a storage media such as a hard disk or flash drive. That way, you can use the document at a later date.

Before saving the document, you need to prepare a folder on the storage media. A well-named special folder will make it easier for you to find documents at a later date. if not set up a custom folder, Microsoft Word 2010 by default will save the document in My Documents.

  • Right-click the Start dialog box in the left corner of the Windows display.
  • Select it and click Explore.

  • Click the “Bottom” icon in the “Save in” combo box to select the folder where the document will be saved, for example Locate Disk (D).
  • Type a file name in the “File name” combo box, for example “Group Assignment.” You can name a document as you like, but make it a habit to give a name that is clear and describes the contents of the document. A clear name will make it easier to find files at a later date. Remember that special characters like (/), (?), and
  • cannot be used as filename.

Finally, click the “Save” button. The document will be automatically saved in the My Documents folder with the name you used.

=> Save with the Save As Command. The second type of command to save a document is “Save As”, this command can be used like the “Save” command. In addition, the Save As command is used to save a document with another name and format, or in other storage media without changing the previously saved document.   • Click the files tab.
  • Select the “Save As” icon, the Save As dialog box will appear as shown below.
  • Click the “Columns” icon in the Save As combo box, then select the folder where you want the document to be saved, such as My Documents.

Type a new file name in the file name combo box, for example “Group Task”. The file is still stored in its original place and its contents will not change. Steps 1,2 and 3 can also be done by pressing the F12 key on your keyboard. To keep unwanted things from happening, such as power failures, so that newly worked data is not lost.

Notes:

After the file is named you need to save yourself regularly by pressing the “Save” icon on the Quick Access Toolbar or pressing Ctrl + S keys.

  • Documents that have been saved sometimes need to be reopened for editing or are needed for other things. You can learn how to open a document by following the steps below.
  • Find the document you want to open.
  • Click the name of the document listed in the folder.
  • If the document you want to open is not listed in Recent Documents, click the “Folder Back” icon on the File tab or on the Quick Access Toolbar to make it easier to open the dialog box. The Open dialog box can also be brought up by pressing the Ctrl + O keys on the keyboard.

3. How to Print a Document. For our various purposes, documents that have been created can be printed on paper. Before printing a document, make sure printer

is properly connected to the computer.

  • Print Preview is used to check the document to be printed. This feature is automatically displayed when you click the Print tab. You can see how to use it below.
  • Click the File tab, and then click Print. This step can also be done by pressing Ctrl + P on your keyboard.
  • Then, a preview of the document will appear automatically.
  • To view the respective pages, click the arrow below the preview.

=> Print Documents with Quick Print command. Quick Print Command

used to print the currently open document quickly. This means that Microsoft Word will not display the print settings, as if you used the Print command. The Quick Print command is located in the Quick Access Toolbar. Once the “Print” icon is clicked, the printer will immediately print the open document.

  • Printing documents using Quick Print is easier and faster. However, the Quick Print command does not allow the user to manage the printing of the document. The entire page will be printed from the beginning of the first page to the last page. To set the printing to be really effective, perform the steps below.
  • Click the File tab, then click Print to bring up the display. This view can also be activated by pressing the Ctrl + P keys on the keyboard.
  • Perform the setup steps in the Print dialog box.

This setting can be done by clicking the arrow next to the 1 Page Per Sheet option so that several printing options appear as shown below.
