In Indonesia, the F4 paper type is quite popularly used in documents. You will likely use this type of paper for printing documents or typing.
F4 paper is a non-standard paper type commonly used in Southeast Asia, and has dimensions that are not included in the international ISO paper (wikipedia). The dimensions of F4 paper are larger than A4 paper sizes, which are also popular in Indonesia.
In the process of typing or printing, ideally we do manual settings. This is because the F4 size is not included in any version of Microsoft Office. You can see how to set it below later.

Pixel F4 size is slightly different compared to settings using cm, mm, or inches.

How to Set F4 Paper Size in Word
When we type in Word using F4, we recommend setting the size first. It will make it easier for us when we print the document.
You don’t have to rearrange each page again because of the difference in size when typing, and when you are going to print.
How to set F4 paper in word you can do with the steps below.
- Open Microsoft Word, or the file you want to edit.
- Open the layouts menu. Then just click the Size menu.
- In the drop down menu that appears, please select the bottom menu (More Pages Sizes).
- Next on the menu that appears, please fill in the width column and the Height column according to the F4 paper size.
- In the Apply to: section select Whole Document. This is so that the paper setting is used on all pages in the word document that you currently open.
- Then click the OK button.
- Finished. The paper size you are using is already using F4, and you can print it directly later.

F4 Paper Size Difference With Legal
Well, many people say that F4 is the same size as legal paper. In reality it is not the same, there are slight differences in dimensions.
Even though it’s only a little, but it’s quite annoying if we don’t do manual settings when typing in Microsoft Word. The print results will be a little messy if we don’t set it beforehand.
Legal paper dimensions in Microsoft Word are 21.59 cm x 35.56 cm. The difference is quite tolerable compared to F4 paper.
There is a difference of about 2.54 cm, where Legal paper is longer than F4. This of course will be quite annoying when you print documents using F4 paper.
So make sure you set it first so you don’t get it wrong.
