Death Stranding Unveils New Gameplay Trailer and Announces New Characters

Sony re-introduced Death Stranding at E3 2022 but this time they presented a cool 8 minute gameplay trailer, using the Decima Engine to make the graphics in the gameplay stunning. This is the fourth Death Stranding trailer to appear, the first teaser appeared at E3 2022, followed by the second and third at The Game Awards 2022 and 2022.

In this latest trailer, Sony also shows two new characters from famous actresses, namely Lea Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner who will have roles in Death Stranding, the characters in the game are also made similar to the two actresses.

Lea Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner will be joined by other major actresses such as Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Guillermo del Toro. This time Hideo Kojima doesn’t seem to be introducing the game, but from the gameplay that was first released, it shows some parts of the game which I think is actually enough to pique my curiosity for years.

The video shows again invisible enemies who can’t seem to see. The main character is seen moving through various environments before finally meeting a woman who helps to avoid detection from an unseen monster.

Although the video does not reveal more specifically about the game’s path. To recall this is Hideo Kojima’s first game after leaving Konami. In a recent Playstation blog post giving a slightly better understanding of what Death Stranding actually is it seems that Sam, the character played by Norman Reedus, has to make the delivery. Presumably, the package is a baby. Here is the PlayStation blog:

Sam is unlike any other hero you’ve seen in previous games. A hero is usually some kind of elite or someone with a military background. Sam didn’t. He is a working person – a professional. Someone with skills similar to blue-collar workers. This is something you’ll intuitively understand once you’ve played the game and taken control of Sam. Herein lies our challenge, to create new game forms and heroes like never before.

Death Stranding is currently still in the development process for the Playstation 4, but it is possible that a few years after that the PC version will be released. There is no information about a release date yet.
