Consequences of Not Registering
There are several consequences gradually if you do not register. The following is as reported by Telkomsel:
- Blocking of outgoing call services and outgoing short message services (SMS) if you do not re-register no later than 30 (thirty) calendar days from the notification date of the re-registration provisions by the telecommunications service provider.
- Blocking of incoming call services and incoming short message services (SMS) if you do not re-register no later than 15 (fifteen) calendar days from the date of service blocking as referred to in the first point.
- Internet service blocking if you do not re-register no later than 15 (fifteen) calendar days from the date of service blocking as referred to in the second point.
Number Limit
The number of numbers that can be registered by prospective customers and existing customers can be registered by the customer concerned (self registration) a maximum of 3 (three) numbers for each NIK of each telecommunications service provider.
If more than 3 numbers are registered, the 4th number and so on can be registered only through the telecommunication service provider’s outlet or the outlet of the telecommunication service provider partner to be used.
So, what about the number in the name of a corporation (not an individual)? The registration mechanism for corporate numbers must also be registered in the name of the customer (individual). Registration of a corporate number needs to be done by a responsible corporate officer and the number is not limited.
Difference between Current and Previous Card Registration
Previous Registration Terms
- Registration with data on Identity Number, Name, Address, Place/Date of Birth, ROID (Retail/Outlet ID), Postal Code.
- There is no validation process.
- It can only be done by outlets of telecommunications service providers and outlets owned by partners.
New Registration Terms
- Registration with the Population Identification Number (NIK) and Family Card (KK) or NIK data listed on the electronic ID card and Family Card (KK).
- Must go through a validation process to the data recorded at the DUKCAPIL Directorate General
- It can be done by the customer concerned, outlets for telecommunications service providers, outlets owned by partners, contacting the contact center service.
