Because it’s not as popular as A4, many still don’t know what the actual size of A3 paper is?
A3 paper is usually used to design pictures, brochures, pamphlets, flyers, or print documents. However, for business printing documents are rather rare, more often used for drawing paper.
If you feel that you often deal with this one paper, knowing its size is certainly very important. To help those of you who don’t know, I have written A3 paper in full in various units of measure, starting from mm, cm, inches, and pixels.
A3 Paper Size List
The following is the A3 paper size in mm, cm, inch, pixel, and also how to set it.
- A3 paper in MM : 297 x 420 mm
- A3 paper in CM : 29.7 x 42 cm
- A3 Paper in Inches : 11.7 x 16.5 inches

Paper Size A3+ (A3 plus)
Besides A3, there is also A3+. The size is also different from the regular A3. In general they are much larger. You can see below.
- A3+ in MM : 329 x 483 mm
- A3+ in CM : 32.9 x 48.3 cm
- A3+ in inches : 13 x 19 inches
Now that you know the sizes of A3 and A3+ paper, now I will show you how to set A3 paper.
How to Set A3 Paper in Word
Note: Because I use Ms Word in Indonesian, it might be a little different if you use Ms Word in English. But, I put the English in brackets.
- Open the Ms Word application
- Create a new document or open a document that will be set using A3 paper
- Click layout (Layout) > size (size)
- Then select A3 paper
- If in Ms Word you don’t have A3 option, click More paper sizes
- Enter the paper size manually, then click OK.

How to Set A3 Paper in Excel
The setting method in Excel is actually the same as in Word, namely:
- Open the Excel app
- Open the excel file you want to set the paper to A3
- Click Page Layout > size > select A3 paper
- If there is no choice of A3 paper, then enter it manually as in Word. That is, click more paper sizes > enter the size manually.
- Click OK. Finished.
How to Set A3 Paper in Photoshop
Because A3 paper is widely used for drawing paper, you also need to know how to set it in Photoshop.
- Open your Photoshop application. Here I am using Photoshop CS6 application. If you’re a Photoshop CC user, it might look a little different from the one in this tutorial.
- Open a new worksheet, click file > new
- A new tab will appear as shown below. In the Presets section, change Custom to International Paper. Then in the size section, change it to A3.
- After that just click OK. The A3 paper will appear and you can start designing.

Now you know the A3 paper size in mm, cm, inch and pixels. So if you need A3 paper and have to enter the size manually, you don’t need to be confused anymore.
