Roku will release new Streaming Stick 4K & OS 10.5 soon

Remote controlled streaming devices Roku will launch Streaming Stick 4K and Roku OS 10.5.

Just like the previous generation, Roku is slated to launch a 4K streaming stick for $50. In addition, Roku will also release the operating system Roku OS 10.5 with many improvements, including new voice controls for Netflix and Spotify.

According to Variety, Tuesday, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K will be 30 percent faster than the previous stick, only allowing for smoother streaming in 4K, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+.

Additionally, Roku announced that the Streaming Stick 4K can receive WiFi remotely and offers speeds up to twice as fast. In addition to the Streaming Stick 4K, Roku will also be releasing the Streaming Stick 4K Plus for $70

Streaming Stick 4K Plus is a dongle combined with Roku Voice Remote Pro, which offers a rechargeable battery, voice-activated remote search, hands-free voice support, and many other functions.

On the media player side, the $80 Roku Ultra LT has been updated with a faster processor. The Roku Ultra LT also has more memory and a new WLAN radio, which offers up to 50 percent greater range than the previous model.

The Roku Ultra LT also comes with Dolby Vision support and Bluetooth audio streaming and will be exclusive to Walmart in the US.

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K will be available in the US and online in mid-October. Additionally, Roku reports that they will be releasing the Streaming Stick 4K in Canada, Mexico, and other Latin American countries in the coming months.

Roku is also offering a 30-day free trial of HBO Max in its limited-time promotion with WarnerMedia. This promotion can be enjoyed with any Roku streaming device purchased and activated between October 1, 2011 and January 14, 2022.
