In the early stages, only a few areas will be included in the list of Telkomsel’s 5G service areas. Then this area will be wider, along with the more complete equipment and systems owned by Telkomsel to operate 5G network services in a wider area so that it can reach all of Indonesia.
The 5G network is now the fastest and most advanced network. Although its use is still limited and not as common as 4G. However, just like when 4G replaced 3G, it is believed that 5G networks will expand in use later. Telkomsel customers should feel proud because Telkomsel is among the first to be able to operate it.

List of Telkomsel 5G Service Areas in Indonesia

2. Surabaya City
As the second largest city in Indonesia, the city of Surabaya is also inseparable from accessing 5G network services in the first stage. However, the access points for 5G network services owned by the City of Surabaya itself are not as many as in the City of Jakarta and its surroundings.
In the city of Surabaya, 5G network services can only be accessed at the GraPARI office. However, not all GraPARI branches in Surabaya have this access. Only the GraPARI branch that has access to Jalan Pemuda in Surabaya City has access.
3. Bandung City
In this Flower City, 5G network services are close to students. Because the network center has been implemented in the Bandung Institute of Technology or ITB area. Only the ITB area can access 5G signals in the city of Bandung. In the next stage, it is hoped that this access will expand to the surrounding area.
4. Surakarta City
Unlike Surabaya, which only has access to the GraPARI branch. The city of Surakarta has two places that can access 5G network services. Apart from GraPARI Surakarta, this access is also available at the Surakarta City Hall.
5. Balikpapan City
Meanwhile, the city of Balikpapan has the same fate as the city of Surabaya. There is only one access to 5G network services in Balikpapan City. This access can only be used at the Balikpapan City branch of GraPARI.
6. Medan City
The last city on this list is Medan City. It turns out that Medan City has quite a lot of access points for this 5G network service. The area includes GraPARI Telkom Group Medan, Bukit Hijau Regency, Government Service Housing on Jalan Sudirman, and access is also available in public places such as Taman Setia Budi Indah.

How to Activate 5G Network

Make sure you are at the access point

Use uSim Type Card
The minimum access required by the simcard in the 5G network is the uSim type. This type of card is used for 4G network access on smartphones. If the customer card is of this type, there is no need to worry because it can be upgraded to a 5G network.
Smartphone Must Already Support 5G Network
Using 5G network services is not only about the provider but also about the device. Therefore, make sure to use a device that already has features that can access 5G network services.
Actually, not many smartphone brands have issued series for 5G networks and have only been released gradually. This may be influenced by the fact that 5G networks are not yet familiar and are not widely used.
