SKCK itself is an abbreviation of Police Records Certificate, which is usually one of the requirements in the administration of certain needs such as applying for a visa to a country, applying for a job in an agency / private company, and the requirements for participating in the selection of Candidates for Civil Servants.
This letter contains information about whether a citizen has a criminal case or not during the last 6 months. So, this SKCK is only valid every six months. Usually, this letter can be obtained by coming directly to the Regional Police, Polres, or Police Headquarters. But now, just take care of everything online.
Requirements for making SKCK
Just like applying for the creation of various other types of important documents, making an SKCK also has conditions, you know, both online and offline. So before looking at how to independently register SKCK online, first find out the following conditions:
- Prepare an e-KTP or other personal identity such as the applicant’s driver’s license (people who want to get an SKCK). If you don’t have an ID card, for example, you can use a different/temporary identity.

- A photo with a plain red photo background with a photo size of 4 x 6 as many as 6 sheets (photos must use decent clothing and have a collar, and the face must be visible in its entirety and there should be no accessories on the face).
- Applicant fingerprint soft file.
Especially for those of you who are foreign nationals, in addition to the above conditions, there are also other requirements that need to be met, namely the following:
- Application letter from the person in charge of the foreigner
- Photocopy of ID card of the spouse (if married).
- Photocopy of passport.
- Photocopy of KITAS (Limited Stay Permit Card), or KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit Card).
- Photocopy of IMTA from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Photocopy of STM (Reporting Certificate).
- Photo with the same number and size but this time with a yellow background.
How to Register SKCK Online
After preparing all the requirements, now you can follow these steps to register SKCK online from home or any place:
- Can be with a smartphone or laptop, open a browser and type polri.go.id.
- In the menu bar at the very top of the page, click menu Registration Form which is on the far right.
- After the e-form appears on the screen, click the down arrow in the column Type of Requirement then choose according to your needs why you want to make an SKCK (whether to apply for a job, run for village head, change address, continue education, etc.).
- Next select Territory Unity. This section is the place where you will take the physical SKCK when it is finished, make sure to choose correctly.
- The next column is where you have to write down your complete residential address as stated on your KTP including RT/RW.
- Next select How to Pay and click the button Continue which is on the lower right.
- Now the web page will change to the second e-form sheet, which is a place where your personal data must be filled in completely and correctly starting from your full name to an active phone number.
- There is also a section on data on family relationships, education, physical characteristics, and more. Then when you get to the attachment, you will be asked to upload the photo that you have prepared earlier. As for the birth certificate, it needs to be uploaded in the section Family relationship.
- Don’t forget to also attach the fingerprint soft file that you previously got at the nearest Polres.
If you have filled in all the data and the online SKCK registration method is successful, the site will provide you with proof of registration.
You will have to bring this proof later to the officer when you will make the payment for the SKCK registration at the nearest police station counter or through the virtual account you chose earlier. For additional information, the cost for making a new SKCK is around Rp. 30,000.
The amount of this fee is in accordance with Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 60 of 2022 which regulates the Tariff and Types of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Now, if you have paid later, then all you have to do is print your proof of payment for later use to take a physical SKCK at the police station, the location is according to the one you selected earlier.
How to Register a New SKCK Offline
If doing the online SKCK registration method is a bit confusing for you, for example, or you are the type of person who prefers to do everything in real / direct, then at this time you can still register SKCK offline with the following steps:
- First while still at home, prepare all the requirements mentioned above but with the addition of each document accompanied by a photocopy. So the original and photocopy of the ID card, the original and photocopy of the birth certificate, and the original and photocopy of the birth certificate.
- Don’t forget to also prepare a photo with the number and conditions above along with the cost of making an SKCK of around Rp. 30,000.
- Then you can bring these requirements to the nearest police station in the area where you live, then just convey the intent and purpose to the officer. As an additional tip, you should come early in the morning to avoid long queues.
- Later you will be given a physical form that must be filled out manually. This form is more or less the same as the one in the e-form earlier.
- If so, submit the completed form along with the supporting documents to the officer.
- After that, the officer will usually first check the completeness of the document and validate the data, then you will be called into the fingerprint formula room to take a fingerprint sample if this is your first time applying for a new SKCK / SKCK.
- Then you will be asked to wait again until the physical SKCK is completed. If the conditions are not long queues, the whole process above to completion usually doesn’t take long, about 30 minutes.
How and Terms and Conditions to Extend SKCK
If later the validity period of your SKCK has expired (more than six months or a maximum of one year), then you need to create a new SKCK whose terms and procedures are slightly similar to making a new SKCK, which are as follows:
- Your original old SKCK (not a photocopy) together with your KTP, KK, and birth certificate, each of which has a photocopy.
- A photo with a size of 4 x 6 still with a plain red background but this time there are only 3 pieces.
- If the requirements are complete, you can immediately come to the nearest police station to request an SKCK extension form.
- Especially for renewals, you will no longer be asked to take a fingerprint formula, but this extension will still be subject to an admin fee of Rp. 30,000, the same as when you made a new SKCK.
