Screenshots are trivial things that sometimes become important. Whether to capture interesting things, proof of work, and others.
How to screenshot on a Laptop / PC is not as simple as on a cellphone. However, it’s actually just as easy.
This time I will share a tutorial on taking screenshots on a Laptop/PC that you can do easily.
How to take a screenshot on a laptop or PC without an application
The meaning without the application here is that you do not need to install additional software. Simply use the default application on your Laptop or PC.
1. Using the PrtSc . Key
The most commonly used method is to use the PrtSc key, then paste it into Paint. Even though there are various other variations of how to take a screenshot with the PrtSc button.
Here are some variations of how to screenshot a laptop or PC with the Printscreen (PrtSc) button.
1. PrtSc
Open the page you want to screenshot, then press the PrtSc button. Then open the Paint application, right click and paste. The result will be like this.

In this way, all parts of the recorded screen are included in the screenshot image.

Alt + PrtSc is useful for taking screenshots only on a single window or an active program. For example, the active window is Google Chrome, then the screenshot is only on the Chrome window. Taskbar and others will not follow.
How to open the page or program to be screenshot. Press Alt + PrtSc, paste into Paint. An example of the results is below.

In the first way, no other parts such as the taskbar window are included in the image.

- press Win + G
- Bar will appear at the bottom, click the camera logo to take a screenshot.
- The screenshots will be directly saved in the Folder: This PC > Videos > Capture

2. Using the Snipping Tool
Snipping Tool is a PC screenshot application that has been automatically installed or a default application.

There are lots of PC screenshot applications. But this time I will only choose some good and light applications on Laptops.

- Greenshot
- Monosnap

- If you select a capture area, drag or hover over the area you want to capture.

4. Nimbus Capture
The last screenshot application I recommend is Nimbus Capture.
Unlike the others, Nimbus Capture can only be used for screenshots on Google Chrome. Because Nimbus Capture is a Chrome Extension.
The advantage of Nimbus Capture is that it provides a large selection of screenshots and can also be a screen recorder.
One of my favorites is the “Selected & Scroll” feature. With this feature, we can take screenshots and scroll at the same time. So, as long as the page is, we can take it in one screenshot.
How to use Nimbus Capture is as follows.
- Download Nimbus Capture and Install
- When finished, look at your Google Chrome address bar, a Nimbus Capture logo will appear (the letter N).

- Click the Nimbus Capture logo
- Select the screenshot feature you want to use. Example here I select the “selected area” feature
- After capturing the desired area, click the “pencil” to edit, the “tick” to save, and the “x” to cancel.
- If you choose to click edit, it will appear like this:

- You can add text, arrows, lines, circles, etc. here.
- Click “done” when finished editing.

- Select Save as Image to save the screenshot to your Laptop or PC.
Conclusion
Screenshots on a Laptop/PC can be done with an application or without an application. For default screenshot tools, the features are usually limited to screenshots only.
While additional screenshot applications offer many more diverse features. For example the four applications above.
