Relationship of Information, Data and Knowledge – Padamu Fashion Blog

There is a relationship between information, data and knowledge. Briefly, it can be explained that information starts with data and then becomes knowledge.

For example, a volcanic eruption, flood disaster, crying children, health immunization and employees receive salaries. The event is represented in the form of symbols.

These symbols can be in the form of text, numbers, sounds, images, a combination of two or more types of symbols, as well as combinations that are regulated by rules and formulations so that they become data.

The data, when received by the human senses, it turns into information. When this information is transferred to another human being, it turns into knowledge.

Humans who acquire knowledge will become (more) wiser than before.

The definition of information is information, statements, ideas, and signs that contain values, meanings, and messages, both data, facts, and explanations that can be seen, heard, and read.

It is presented in various packages and formats in accordance with the development of information and communication technology electronically or non-electronically.

Information values are divided into 10 kinds, namely 1) ease of access, 2) breadth and completeness, 3) accuracy, 4) suitability, 5) timeliness, 6) clarity, 7) flexibility, 8) can be proven, 9) not there is prejudice, and 10) can be measured.

There are two types of information, namely recorded and unrecorded information. Recorded information can be recorded through graphic, electronic, audiovisual, and print media. There are six kinds of information characteristics, namely 1) information area, 2) information density, 3) information schedule, 4) information frequency, 5) information time, and 6) information source.
