Call of Duty WWII is getting its first DLC pack, The Resistance, at the end of next month. Here’s what’s included.
Activision has released a new preview video for the first Call of Duty: WWII expansion. In the video, the developers from Sledgehammer Games talk about the new multiplayer map, as well as the next War Mode map and content Nazi Zombie the new one. According to Sledghammer boss Michael Condrey, Resistance is the “biggest, most exciting” content expansion ever created by Sledgehammer. Activision offer a brief description of each:
- anthropoid
Based in Prague, Czechoslovakia, this map is inspired by Operation Anthropoid, the infamous assassination attempt on high-ranking German officers during World War II. This map has a middle lane divided by a river, with a long path that can be used by snipers for long range attacks. - Occupation
In this remake of the classic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer map Resistance, players battle their way through the streets and shops of German-occupied Paris during World War II. Long streets encourage mid-range combat, with nearby houses and storefronts lending a defensive position for ambush and recovery. - Valkyrie
Set in the Masurian Forest, East Prussia, this map is inspired by The Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s Middle East headquarters during Operation Barbarossa, the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. It’s a medium-sized map with gameplay focused around a treacherous middle lane covered by multiple overwatch positions and mounted machine guns.
The Resistance DLC also adds new missions Call of Duty WW2’s War Modewhich are called Operation Intercept. Again, here’s the PR breakdown:
Outside St. Lo, France, the next War Mode experience takes us on an urban rescue mission to save Resistance fighters being transported by train. The first objective on the Allied side was to free the fighters, followed by the destruction of the main communications equipment, and ending with stopping a train.
Finally, for co-op fans, there’s a new chapter in the Nazi Zombie saga. Called The Darkest Shorehe continues the story in the main campaign Call of Duty WW2 Nazi Zombies:
The Darkest Shore follows our heroes into the next chapter of their perilous journey. Just days after the horrific Mittelburg disaster, the crew has received intel indicating that Doctor Straub is on an island in northern Germany. Shrouded in fog, the island is surrounded by Nazi air and sea power – and crawling with the Undead. Marie, Drostan, Olivia, and Jefferson need to fight all this and more to unravel the mysteries hidden within the Darkest Shore.

The Resistance is included in the Call of Duty WW2 season pass and special edition but is also available for purchase separately. No pricing yet, but we expect the usual formula to apply. Look out for The Resistance on PS4 on January 30th, wile PC and Xbox One will have to wait a month.
