2022 was a golden year for the highly profitable Activision, completing the console sales list with two of the year’s biggest console games.
Call of Duty: WWII has been a huge success. We already know that it easily topped the NPCs in November, outperforming all other console games this year, and a lot of people have played it too. But now we have a slightly clearer picture of how well it has done.
As reported by gamesindustry.biz, Call of Duty: WW2 has reached 13.5 Trillion sales worldwide since its launch on November 3. The exact number of copies isn’t available, but it’s huge, indicating that the game has been a huge success worldwide as well.
According to a quote in the article from the CEO Activision Eric Hirshberg, “Call of Duty has been the best-selling console-grossing game in North America for nine consecutive years, and eight worldwide for the past nine years.” It was incredible. This one has done really well, though – it’s the best-selling Call of Duty game of this console generation, which means that it’s outsold. Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare.

Apart from these titles, Activision was also successful this year with Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy for PlayStation 4. The company says the game is the best-selling remastered collection in the system’s history, and ranks among the top 10 best-selling PS4s. 2022 title in terms of units, though both claims only take into account sales despite late October.
