Problem: How to grow a nutmeg plant?
Answer: According to the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, there are many factors for growing nutmeg that must be considered so that the nutmeg produced can provide ideal yields in terms of quality and quantity.

There are two ways of growing nutmeg plants: the midwifery method: taking high-quality or good-quality nutmeg seeds. Vegetarian method: with grounds and bait from good quality nutmeg plants. Here’s how to plant nutmeg:
1. Soil preparation, how to do it: tillage so that bulk tillage is carried out during the dry season so that efficient faeces on sloping soil must go in the direction of the transverse slope to prevent corrosion
2. Planting, including: the implementation of the planting hole, namely: The planting hole must be done a month before planting the seeds so that the soil in the hole is not acidic. The planting hole is made of 60 x 60 x 60 cm for light soil types and 80 x 80 x 80 cm for clay soil types. In digging a planting hole, the top and bottom plots must be separated because they have different elements. Top soil mixed with sufficient compost. Distance: A good distance of nutmeg is 9 x 10 meters, while for wavy soil it is 9 x 9 x 9 meters. Planting, including: Seedlings are planted at the beginning of the rainy period to prevent the seeds from drying out. Plant seeds come from seeds and already have 3-5 branching stems, on average they are well adapted. If a nutmeg seed is grafted, the leaves must be removed before planting, to reduce transpiration and reduce seedling mortality, the planting hole should be deepened to strengthen the roots so that they do not fall on adults.
3. Maintenance: Small nutmeg plants are less resistant to sunlight, so they need protective plants that grow directly, for example Clerisidae or fruit plants. 4. Embroidery: This is done if the nutmeg seedlings die or the growth is not good.
5. Weeding: Weeding is removed when weeds appear once a month.
6. Fertilization: Before fertilizing, a trench with a depth of 10 cm and a width of 20 cm should be made in a circle around the broad canopy stem, after which fertilizer is planted and accumulated with soil according to the dose.
7. Regenerate nutmeg plants in several ways, such as: • New opening method: cutting all old nutmeg trees and replacing them with small nutmeg plants. Gradual loosening method: Planting small nutmeg plants between old nutmeg trees. There is no way to relieve: young plants are inserted between the old nutmeg trees, and old trees are cut down after the production of young nutmeg. Nutmeg plants begin to bear fruit at the age of 7 years and produce a maximum until the age of 25 years, but nutmeg trees can produce up to 60-70 years continuously.
In a year can be plucked twice. Nutmeg can be harvested about 6-7 months after flowering. Signs of ripe nutmeg are some fruits that are starting to decompose and are seedless covered in nutmeg.
