Easy Ways to Reduce Image Size in Ubuntu Using Nautilus Script Reduce Images

How to Install Nautilus Script Reduce Images on Ubuntu

To install Reduce Images on your computer using the Ubuntu distribution or its derivatives, you can do it through the PPA repository. PPA repository it works on Ubuntu 16.04 onwards.

sudo nautilus -q

Then reopen Nautilus, the newly installed Reduce Images will be installed in Nautilus and ready to be used to reduce the size of your image file.

To start using it, right-click on the image file you want to reduce in size, then a menu will appear pop-ups, on the choices of pop-up select “Reduce Images” as shown in the image below:

In the Reduce Images option there are 3 more options that you can choose from, the first option is called “Reduce Image” which serves to reduce the size of the image directly, using settings default or settings previously.

While the second option is “Configurate” which serves to adjust how exactly the image file settings will be reduced in size. You can change this setting according to what you want.
