Wait until the download process is complete.

After the download is complete, change the permissions so that the file can be executed or executable by typing the following command in Terminal.

chmod a+x krita-3.0-x86_64.appimage

When finished, open it by double-clicking on the file to install it. Or by typing the following command.

./krita-3.0-x86_64.appimage

How to Install Krita on Ubuntu Using the Repository

Apart from using AppImage. For Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementatary and other Ubuntu-derived distros can also carry out the installation process through the PPA repository. However, for the latest version of Krita, it is more and more highly recommended to install Krita using AppImage.

To install Krita using the PPA repository. Before that make sure you are connected to the internet. Then open Terminal by pressing the combination CTRL + ALT + T on the keyboard to open Terminal.
Enter the following command in Terminal to add the repository and install Krita.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dimula73/krita
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install krita3-testing
