How to Change or Increase Partition Size Using GParted on Linux
GParted is an app partition editor or partition manager on the GNU/Linux operating system which can be used to change the partition size, partition label, type file system partitions, delete partitions and so on.
The partition size is set during the operating system installation process. But sometimes after a while, it turns out that the size of the partition that we previously set during installation is not enough or does not match our needs, so we have to increase the size of the partition.
We can use the GParted application to change or increase the partition size. I will give a tutorial how to change or increase partition size using GParted on Linux.
Changing or Increasing Partition Size Using GParted on Linux
In this tutorial I use Kali Linux, where on Kali Linux the GParted application is installed automatically defaults. You can use distribution apart from Kali Linux which has a GParted application. If the distribution you are using does not have GParted installed by default, please install the GParted application first or you can use Kali Linux Live or GParted Live.
Open the GParted application, once open, the partitions on the device will appear as shown below. In the picture you can see that there is an empty space labeled unallocated. In this tutorial we will add this free space to the Linux partition named /dev/sda3.
