Instagram recently announced several new improvements to protect the privacy of its users. One of them is the two-factor authentication feature. How to enable Instagram two-factor authentication?
Before we get to the steps for enabling this feature, what exactly is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication is a security feature that prompts users to enter a special login code each time they try to log into their account.
The function of this feature is of course to secure the account so that it is not hacked by others.
There are 2 methods of this two-factor authentication:
- Login code sent via SMS
- The login code is sent via a third party app such as Google authenticator
How to Enable Instagram Two-Factor Authentication
Go to Settings – Privacy and Security – Two-Factor Authentication – Tick on Require Security Code – Enter Phone Number (+62) – Click Next – Enter the 6 digit code that has been sent.
So until here, a security code will be sent to your cellphone every time you log into Instagram.
That’s how to enable the two-factor authentication security feature on Instagram. If you encounter problems while following the steps above, please ask in the comments column. Hopefully the tutorial above is useful!
