The phishing experience that I experienced occurred in early 2022. At that time I was looking for a way to add gem coc. And finally, I got into the website page generator.
Because I don’t know, so I just fill in all the boxes that are asked for. Even in the login box, I filled in my email and password as well. hmm..
After a week my account was lost, more precisely, it couldn’t be accessed because the password had been changed.
In my heart “wow.. why yes, even though I never change my password. But why is there a notification that you are using the old password.”
Then I browsed to find out what the cause was. In an article “the cause of the lost coc account“I read there, it said one of them was caused by phishing.
Out of curiosity what phishing is, I decided to deepen my search. Starting from understanding, how to create a phishing web, how it works and how to prevent it.
2 weeks later I understand the problem of phishing. And to make sure what I learned is correct, I tried again to fill in the account login data in the generator which had caused my account to be lost.
Fake generator with great prizes
Here I have set up 2 new accounts, then I access the generator website again. If I’m not mistaken, the web ends in .tk but I forgot the front because it’s hard to read.
My first attempt filled it with the first account login data. I wrote my email and password correctly.
And the second try, I filled in the second account data. But I wrote the email correctly and I blamed the password.
One week later, I checked my account again. And as a result, the first account is lost and the second account is still accessible.
Well, from here it turns out that what I learned is true. That is, if phishing is filled with original/blamed data, then our account will be safe. Because the phishing maker only sees incoming data and then uses it to log in. If the data is original, it will definitely fail.
Incorrect login page
The name phishing must begin with an attractive prize and then be directed to the login page. If we fill this page, the contents will go directly to the phishing maker.
Well, back then, when I was still on, I just filled in my login data. Instead of being happy because who knows, it will work.
If examined again, the hallmark of web phishing is that the login page is not in place. For example, the facebook login page but the url/address is at skinfree.cf, it doesn’t fit.
The fb login page should be at the address facebook.com, Gmail or google.com and so on.
In conclusion, we will know better, if we ever get into trouble. Like myself, I became aware of the phishing problem after losing my account due to phishing.
