OK, now let’s move on to the main topic.
What is dybbuk?
Dybbuk is a box made of wood covered with melted wax at each end which is useful for sealing and roaming evil spirits.

In Jewish mythology, the word dybbuk means a spirit or spirit that has died but is still trapped in an object, so it is still wandering around.
Based on its history, the dybbuk box is a wine box that was deliberately made to seal the evil spirits that came out of the Ouija game.

But now, the original dybbuk box has been preserved and only fake boxes are traded on the deep web or e-commerce sites.
History of dybbuk box
On November 10, 1938, a few months before World War II, Sophie and Havaley created a board game called Ouija board for fun.
Neither of them knew that the game could be used to summon evil spirits.
As the game progresses, suddenly many evil spirits come out of the game.
They tried to seal the spirits but failed. Because at that time they were confused to find a suitable media to use.
Then not long after the 2nd world happened.
Many psychics also say that the war was caused by the spirits summoned by Sophie and Havaley.
After World War 2 ended, Sophie and Havaley made wine boxes which were used to seal the spirits they summoned.
The sealing process was successful after both of them recited the spell.
Famous since 2001
2001 was the year when the term dybbuk was known by the public.
The story begins when there is a man named Kevin Mannis who buys a box from a land broker.
The reason Kevin bought the box was because of its unique shape and wanted to be used as decoration for his furniture shop.
Before the handover, the realtor explained that the box did not belong to him. Rather it belonged to a German Jew named Havaley.
Havaley was one of the survivors of the Holocaust tragedy (the massacre of the German Jews spearheaded by Hitler).
Then the land realtor also explained that the box was a sacred box (amulet) from the Havaley family.
Out of curiosity, Kevin asked for the Havaleys’ home address.
When Kevin finds the address of the house, he intends to return the box he bought.
But what happened, Havaley’s grandson refused the box because he got a message that the box contained a wandering spirit.
Finally Kevin returned to his furniture store and put the box as decoration.
From then on, a strange incident occurred and at that time the dybbuk box began to be discussed by many people.
Gives a negative effect to the owner
Kevin found out that the dybbuk box had a negative effect after he opened the contents of the box.
The contents of the dybbuk box are:

- 2 coins from 1920
- A few strands of hair tied with rope
- The white stone is carved in Hebrew with the words ‘salom’
- Little golden wine title
- A red rose
- And an octopus shaped candle holder
Actually Kevin did not know what the meaning of these items. So he put it all back in.
The peak of the strange incident occurred when Kevin gave the box to his mother as a birthday present.
On the same day, Kevin’s mother suffered a stroke and soon died at the age of 103 years.
A few years later, Kevin sold the box to a college student named Jason Haxton.
Jason also experienced strange events such as convulsions, coughing up blood and often seeing supernatural activity on the dybbuk box.
This made Jason contact Kevin to ask him where the box came from.
Then in the end Kevin and Jason met Sophie who was none other than Havaley’s cousin.
From that moment Sophie told all the real events related to the dybbuk. And that’s what made the dybbuk box put in a museum in one of America’s museums.
