Synopsis Ayla the Daughter of War
In 1950, in the midst of the devastation of the Korean War, Sergeant Suleyman stumbles upon a half-frozen little girl, with no parents and no compensation in sight. Frantic, scared and on the verge of death.
This little girl captures the heart of Suleyman, who risks his own life to save her, smuggling her into Army headquarters and out of harm’s way.
Not knowing her name and unable to communicate with her, Suleyman names her Ayla, in memory of the moon on the fateful night when they met.
The two formed a bond and were inseparable, and Ayla, almost effortlessly, brought immense joy to the Turkish brigade in the grips of war. As the war drew to a close, Suleyman’s brigade was informed that they would return home.
