Beyond Skyline Review
Compared to the chaos on set, there’s actually something that makes this film feel lacking. The plot twist at the end of the story really makes this film interesting and easy to understand. Unfortunately, like its sequels, Beyond Skyline’s story is complicated and fast-paced. So, if you don’t concentrate on watching, this film will be difficult to digest.
In addition, this film is weak in conflict and dialogue. Both feel forced and as if only a sweetener to cover the weakness of the storyline. Especially the chemical reaction between Mark and Trent. Both felt that the father-son relationship was very stiff.
Both make the film irrelevant in the first half. Although not successful in storytelling, O’Donnell can be said to be successful as a director. Except for the tacky scenes in the first half, almost all the scenes handled very well. Scene after scene seemed to flow, especially the battle scenes which were well laid out by Iko and Yayan.
