Sunan Muria’s Tomb

From the history of the spread of Islam, the figure of Sunan Muria cannot be separated. He is a scholar of great merit, apart from Sunan Kudus, who established Islam in the Kudus area and its surroundings. As a respected figure, his legacy is preserved. Likewise with his grave. Until now, many pilgrims come to Sunan Muria, to pray and remember his services.

The tomb of Sunan Muria is located on a hill, with an altitude of about 1600 above sea level. To reach this tomb requires a struggle, because you have to pass through quite a lot of stairs and steep. Near the tomb there is a mosque left by Sunan Muria. This mosque has undergone various renovations so that its shape is not what it used to be. However, some relics of the Sunan are still preserved, including the minhrab and the drum.

There is something interesting about the drum at the Sunan Muria mosque. Its age has reached hundreds of years, because it was made in 1884. On the beduk there are carvings of dragons and roosters. This carving shows the cultural fusion between Java and China.

Monthel Falls

From religious tourism, you can also enjoy natural attractions in the form of the charming Monthel waterfall. This waterfall is located about 3 kilometers north of the tomb of Sunan Muria, precisely in the village of Kajar, Kec. Dawe, Holy.

To achieve it, you can do it from the tomb complex of Sunan Muria. There is a road from the tomb complex directly to the Monthel waterfall parking lot. And from this parking lot there are exotic stairs to the waterfall.

The height of the Monthel waterfall is around 50 meters. Water discharge will increase in the rainy season. In the dry season, the discharge will decrease. Even so, the Monthel waterfall still provides a cool view of the eye.

Supported by the green surroundings and the cool air temperature between 18-20 degrees Celsius, many visitors feel at home for long. At the waterfall, there will be splashes of water that are like mist and can wet the body. There is also a natural pool just below the waterfall. Visitors can bathe in this place. Rajenu Tourism Area

The Rajenu tourist area is located to the north of the tomb complex of Sunan Muria and is above the Monthel waterfall. The exact location is in the Japanese village, Dawe, Kudus. What’s so interesting about this Rajenu area?

First, in the Rajenu area there is a tomb of a figure known as Syeh Sadzali. It is said that this figure is a student of Sunan Muria who came from Iraq. Not only studying, Sheikh Sadzali also helped Sunan Muria to enforce Islam.

The existence of Syeh Sadzali is also related to the unique site in the Rajenu area, namely three flavors of water. It is said that this spring is a relic of the Sheikh Sadzali.
